I've commented on other people's post but this is my first one. I'm have read so much on here and have learned at lot but one subject I can't find any information on is a 33/10.5R16. Its hardly wider than stock so most likely less rubbing than a 285. Better on road manners than a 255. Coming from the skateboard world I feel more stable on a wider wheel. I get narrower has less resistance but wider inspires confidence. I wanted to get others opinion on this tire size. Has anyone used it?

That size is uncommon. Seems that tsl offers super swampers in that size tho. I’d recommend looking into some 255/85r16 which would be close to a 33x10. Plenty of info on here with that size and more tire options.

Have 255/85, no bad road manners due to the size. I have km2’s and it rains a lot here so they tend to spin easily, but I attribute that to the km2 tread pattern, not the size. It’s a great tire otherwise on and off road.

My truck came stock with 245s, so 255 is fine. No complaints on and off road.

In my opinion I’d just go with 285 75 16
The width of this tire compared to the tire size you want is minimally wider and the additional width is split on the inside and outside of the wheel. The main reasons you will have any rubbing is from the overall tire diameter and a wheel backspace that either pushes the wheel too far out so that the tire rubs the fender flare. If it’s too far inward you’ll possibly rub the frame or suspension components. The only disadvantage to this size tire is that most manufacturers only make this size in a load range D. For some this is great but for others the extra weight decreases drivability.

I have read the tire debate of 255 vs 285. It's been beaten to death on here. I was just saying a 33 by 10.5 seems like the perfect 33.

It would/could be. It’s just not a common size tire or easy to find.

I have to echo the folks suggesting the 255/85 16. I ran them on an FJ cruiser - BFG KM2 and had Discount Tire sipe the treads. Handled and wore great on the road (including rain/snow) and I got a lot of life out of them. If I decide to lift the Taco, I will definitely go the pizza cutter route and go with the 255/85's

Slippery slope buddy. "Perfect tire size" is 100% subjective. You seem to think this uncommon size is "perfect" or close to it, so have at it even though most on here will try to steer you to the lesser path of resistance 33" tire (255/85/16) for this rig. Just don't forget to source the CMC plates and factor in the time (labor) that goes along with them. After that you'll be thinking about re-gearing to accommodate the added weight of this bigger tire.
