Thinking about getting one for my truck. Anybody know of any good performance chips or programers?

Great question, because coming off of a ford F-150, and F-250, there were programmers for all types of HP and towing situations. it's just odd that there isn't a programmer for the Tacoma.
I loved not only the performance aspects of a tuners, but the practical gauge applications, trans temp, oil temp, air intake temp, fuel economy, (avg/instant), ect..
It just sucks that Tacoma's don't have these types of options?

I would not have known to search "MAF calibrators" either.

    Just saying.

I don't know whether it would work or not. I saw the OP's thread and I was looking for information about increasing the hp. The link that I posted was just a "Google search". That is it. Again, I have no idea whether or not it would do anything.

    What would you suggest?

Is this not what the URD does? Just curious? URD is $200.00 and this one is $70.00. The money is not the issue. Just what to know the difference.

    Thank you.

If you buy the cheaper one from PCD, install it and let me know how it does via PM... I also would like a chip or piggyback but dont want to spend $200 on URD's mysterious black box with wires... $70 is still stretching it. But if someone can tell me that it truly works and there is measurable difference, then Im in.

    Thanks!
Also, why doesnt one of these performance companies develop a nice piggy back model for the 2nd gen Tacomas? Are they designed from the factory for the most aggressive power curve? Doubt it

Well, I "Googled" reviews for this product and everone agrees with whippersnapper... so I am going to leave mine alone.

It was not that important to me anyway.

    Thanks for all the input.

Yeah, your options are few... Though not cheap the URD MAF Calibrator, Unichip, MapECU2, and the APR X-1 are the only real performance electronics for our trucks. Not cheap, but you really do get what you pay for when it comes to performance electronics.

    This^^^

And the fact that any benefit any of those little ridiculous ebay chips will be negated quickly. The truck has the ability to learn and remap its ECU to the specs that it wants. So many things that you throw on will be negated very quickly...
