Performance air filter mod questions

    ^Next oil change. 4000kms. Wait a month or two.

    I hear it'll give me at least 34RWHP.

    Keep me posted....To clean the sand, put it in your rear diff for 100 miles, or ........like........182Kms......:confused:

    I heard that adding cat feces to it helps improve the consistency of the sand. Any truth to that?

    Step bars, billet grill with custom TOYOTA, MB Quart RSI 216 components, Hifonics ZXi 4410, RAAMmat deadened doors/back wall/roof covered with ensolite , 24" Magnaflow muffler, hand polished stock exhaust tip, tinted, OEM TRD Bilstiens all around with 1/4" spacers up front to level it out. Sport wheels added.
    opinions for sure....just trying to see if someone has anything other than that. The links were good info. But has it been determined that it's actually DONE something to a motor?:confused:


    One of the main reasons OEM filters are the way they are is to suppress intake noise to meet EPA guidelines. Of course they are there to filter the air...but to what levels are actually NEEDED. Any engineer types here that has experience with this stuff?

    There are also resonators alon the intake track to supress the intake pulses.....It boils down to, more air flow thru a filter has to come at the expense of filtering efficiency. After I switched back to the OEM filter, my silica levels dropped to a very small amount, and my intake track was clean. Another thing about filters, the OEM filter has quite a bit of surface area......alot, actually, and flowes quite well. I had installed a vacumme gauge on a few of my engines, and a clean OEM filter doesnt pull any vaccume on the gauge. That tells me that the engine isnt feeling a restriction. FWIW, I tested this under WOT on a dyno.
