    There are no "performance chips" for the 1st gen Tacos. That probably hooks up to the MAF sensor. It basically fools the sensor in that it tells the sensor that the air coming in is cooler than it actually is and you use more gas to compensate for that. Don't waste your money on crap like that. If it really worked everyone would have one on their truck. Do a search on the forum and see what you find.

    ~$2000 for TRD kit. More to get it installed but easy to do yourself. Makes sure you switch to premium fuel.

    This chip does as it says above. However if you have a decent intake and exhast, the extra gas can be benefitial (ish). Without exhast/intake, you'll just be waisting gas. Not too familiar with how the Gen 1 works though so dont take my word for gospel.

    chips are crap!!!! big waste of money. trd supercharger with a urd 7th injector is where its at..
