I own a 2022 Tacoma. I was told by a couple people that I could correct some of the gear searching in the truck as well as add a little horse power with some sort of chip that can be purchased.. Can anyone give me any info regarding this. Thanks

Welcome. No fancy chips and no legit gains but you can regear or get a tune. Keep in mind that 99% of the tunes out there are just dudes tinkering on a laptop in their garage.

Drive it for at least 10,000 miles before you make any decisions.

    Wow!

Who are these people who told you this? (Not being facetious)

I drove my Sport over a year before I got my truck tuned.

The ECU needs to evaluate your driving habits (that's what I've read on here) so it's a good idea to read your owner's manual on how to drive your truck the first month or so. (No towing and speeding if I can recall from previous post about recommendations)

Here's something to view in your spare time:

No offence to anyone but I would only trust Mat from OV tune. He really knows his stuff.

    OMG!

Unless you do serious Off-Road Crawling, you don't need a re-gear!!!!

Mine settled down quite a bit around 2000 miles. I’ve noticed there’s a lot of aerodynamic drag above 70 mph and 6th gear is so high the engine isn’t making a lot of torque at the rpm it’s running at in 6th. I’ll likely try a tune soon to see if it helps. It behaves a lot better in S5 in the 60-65 mph range. On hills, the torque converter unlocks then it gains 200-300 rpm, just enough extra to maintain speed without annoying downshifting. In D it will shift from 6th to 4th sometimes and it pisses me off.
