Crash and Burn is correct Fogs should only be used at certain times. I have the Morimoto XBs in white and really like them and run them also as DRL’s using the anytime mod. I have had yellow fogs in the past which I personally think dont diminish your vision as much because of the transition from yellow to white in field of vision. I may switch to yellow fogs at some point.

I went with 5500k for one vehicle (my spouse doesn’t prefer a blu-ish tone) and 6500k on mine.) I always thought having as much foreground white or even yellow light as possible helps to see as much as possible right in front or on the sides...but I forgot about how it affects distance vision at the same time.

To clarify, stock is best if you are in the habit of leaving your fogs on all the time as aux driving lights at night. Fogs are a tool with a specific purpose, there are effective upgrades that replace the entire housing with one designed from the ground up for LEDs, or upgrading the halogen bulbs with ones that are significantly brighter to work with the stock optics. But as you increase the foreground light output from a fog light, you harm your night distance vision. So when used for the right purpose, preferably combined with the fog anytime upgrade, they can be an invaluable tool in enhancing vision in poor weather. But when used as 'aux driving lights' significant fog upgrades can do more harm for your distance vision than good.

He has some experience, I think he has done a “few” tests on lighting products.

Since I wanted to support a USA company (no hard feelings Xenon Depot) I ended up going with Morimoto’s XB HID and the latest generation AMP Morimoto XB35 2.0 ballasts and 5500k/6500k bulbs for 2 of our vehicles.

    Here’s my opinion:
    -No shaking
-Very bright and stable, fog lights not needed now. I kept my stock fog lights and will use them when needed in bad weather.
-Foreground lighting much better than any led’s I’ve tried.
    -Great quality products
    -Distance lighting is awesome
-HID is MUCH better for halogen projectors after many countless hours and many led options I’ve tried. This will not only be safer, but possibly save lives. Believe me stay away from led bulbs in projector halogens. It’s simply not worth it.

Keep in mind these pics are from 2 of our other vehicles.

@TRSAndrew your Morimoto HID bulbs and ballasts are top notch. Thank you for allowing me to rest easy at night now. :)

Thanks! They look unbelievable on the road. Great color and output! I just can’t believe I didn’t do this earlier. LED’s just cannot complete. Plain and simple. I’ve tried so many of them and still can’t believe I wasted all that time vs just going this route.
