    was thinking about buying a bully dog programmer for my 07 tacoma and was wondering if anyone has purchased one or had any thoughts on them if they really work and halp with performance/mpg.

    Don't buy the bully dog. They do not work and are a waste of money. Use the search for the forum.

    Unichip supposedly work, but you need a Unichip qualified tuner

    www.urdusa.com has some good stuff for your 07

    Well after having programmers on a couple trucks of mine in the past, you can expect AT MOST +15 hp and maybe 1 mpg. Unfortunately you get the most gains if you've already got a cold air intake and free flowing exhaust. So on a stock truck, don't expect much.
    I towed a lot with my F250 gas and wanted more control over my shift points and a diagnostic code reader, that was why I got them.

    However since I don't have a 6 cyl tacoma, I can't tell you from personal experience.

    Well, if you look at URD, the have a non forced induction package that upgrades most of your bolt on performance stuff...i wanna say they show 40-60 hp increase...off the top of my head. If you were to throw on a Supercharger down the road, youd be pushing 300 to the wheels (like me :anonymous:)

    Not a true statement. He has an 07, so UCON works, Unichip supposedly works if you find a tuner.

    So pretty much it won't get into the computer so it pointless? So probably Just stick to actual bolt on performance upgrades.

    There are piggyback ecus available for you however, that do work. No chips though. Piggybacks change the signal going into the ECU so it tunes the engine for you, based on the signals coming from the piggyback

    I don't know that I'd up it that much, at 5k it's already screaming and then hitting rev limiter...if I did it I'd probably go up to maybe 5500 max. 6200 just seems like crazy high to me.

    I drive like I stole it all day, so I like my OEM redline.... but I don't plan to get a UCON until I get a backup motor....

    UCON is fine, as long as you make sure to tune it correctly and not go past OEM margins to far. Raising redline, getting your AFR lined out to close to lean out, shit like that and you should have a back up engine lol. But getting it to Tune it up and open up a little more Hp is fine. I'd like it just to raise my speed limit a little....not that i'd ever go 110 or anything :anonymous: but if I did, it would totally be on a track :spy:

    I'm paranoid now especially after replacing 2 pulleys a water pump recently.... I'm scared the things gunna blow up! It ain't been the same since I wrecked it.

    Atf down the cylinders? Why and how much. And by plastic, like massive amounts of plastic wrap, or is there like a special tarp or something? And cover all holes, would some kind of material to wrap it suffice?
