Perhaps a dumb question but are there any Texas panhandle members here? Pampa area specifically?

I've been researching places to move to and just discovered that Texas freezes property taxes at age 65. That's a big thing for me as I'm getting killed in Pennsylvania with a drunken sailor school board with no spending restraint or common sense.

The panhandle area puts me much closer to Colorado where the grandkids are. All suggestions and advice welcome.
