Does NJ have licensing for general contractors? I grew up in NJ, but didn't get into this business until I moved to Philly. If so, do they require an OSHA 30 for the GC and OSHA 10 for the subs? I had to do the OSHA 30 when I renewed my GC license in Philly. Pain in the ass class. A lot of the info either wasn't necessary for my particular situation, or was juat plain old common sense (at least to me)

Pretty much! I used to work at Simplex in Scranton. They required hat's and glasses while walking on the floor, even if you weren't working.

Do it! That looks badass. Ya know, I hate how corded circular saws always have the blade on the other side. IMO that one you linked has the blade on the correct side. I always use my right hand for holding the handle. When I'm cutting something, I want to see the blade and watch the line. With the corded saws and the blade being opposite, I have to move my body over the saw to see what's going on. I do have a porter cable corded saw that has the blade on "my side" but I haven't seen others like it. @stairgod what's your thoughts on that?

Most common circular saws have the blade on the right. I think all worm drive style saws are blade left.

You CAN get circular saws with blade left. I prefer my circular saws to be blade left, where I can easily see where the blade is cutting into.

I have a Dewalt 18v trim circular saw (5 - 3/8" blade) with the blade on the left. Also have a Dewalt Worm drive that has the blade on the left.

I had a Makita that was blade right. Gave it to my brother long ago. Didn't match the rest of my tools.

Yeah worm drive is left. I prefer left since that's the side of the saw my body wants to be on. My dad actually brought this query up to me years ago. He said he searched and the only NON worm drive he fou d was the porter cable, but they don't make em like that anymore. To be honest, I never looked. I just used his.

It seems to me that all cordless saws are blade left. And all worm drive saws are also.

Edit: I'v never really used a worm drive saw. Maybe it's better. I'll bet @stairgod can handle them with ease.

Worm droves are all blade left. Some circular saws are available either way, and by circular saws I mean direct drive, non-worm gear units.
Porter cable used to have a model 347 that was right blade, and 743 that was left blade.
I have both a right blade and left blade cordless saws from Milwaukee, as well as a few old 36v Dewalt that are all left blade. Dewalt now has a worm drive cordless that I am dying to buy, but I am all Milwaukee now on the jobsite, and am reluctant to being in a bastard child.

As far as which is better for sight lines, the honest answer is neither. Ideally, the main part of the saw plate should be on your keeper piece to keep the cut true all the way through. For a right handed user operating a worm drive, that would mean the off cut would be to your left with the keeper on your right. Vice versa for a standard right blade saw. Typically top handle saws are easier to operate because of balance, where a worm drive is front heavy due to the handle being all the way at the rear. One of the reasons why climbing saws are top handle, and ground saws are rear handle. @Wheelspinner and @Paint6it9black can confirm this.
The type of saw I use depends on the material and work. For angle cuts or rips in green lumber, I usually grab a worm due to having more torque with the reduction gearing.

Honestly, it is all up to the user and what they find comfortable and get the best results with. I can cut with a worm the wrong way (off cut to the right) and still get good results. But I also have over two decades of using one.

Damn. Good to know. I'll order now. And what's cool is that its a pre-tax FSA approved item.

I didn't like wearing safety glasses for close quarter work because I hated switching back and forth between reading and standard safety glasses,
