have you been to Raush? How do blues at AOAA compare to blues at Rausch?

My first trip I had stock suspension, but an IFS, Tranny, and T case skid on 265/70/17's lol

    I banged around A LOT

Rauch is rockier, AOAA is tree-i-er (sp?) In my limited experience.

Yeah man. I bet. My first "off-road" mod was a lift. Then after trip 1, I bought the trio of skids and sliders and then immediately went on harder trails where i hit all of it.

I buy more shit after every trip I go on... "now I need this and that and those "

For someone who doesn’t off-road a lot, I should be ok with aluminum skids right? It’s a daily and I don’t really want all the extra weight. Especially after the bumper and sliders.

I went to Rausch last time out and did Snakebite. It's a blue trail rock garden. It sucked. I hated it. I banged a lot on that trail. @stairgod

P rated translates to mean paper thin sidewalls, and people would place bets as to how long they last. I've had nothing but good with the Cooper tall/skinnies.

If you want or need skids, I'm sure @Skell could whip out at set for you.
Or @TNT4X4 has some in stock (in NJ)....

I regret so not picking up 255s , or at least St Maxx's

If you plan on doing anything more than light blues occasionally, I would get steel. I don't think there's a HUGE difference in weight but I could be wrong. @Mobtown Offroad

    Everything TW members recommend
Generally steel is double the weight of aluminum for the same thickness

I would never run aluminum skids unless I was sure they’d never touch a rock.

    enough to have fun

That's how I got my truck to where it is at now.

IMO it's at the perfect point (for me), between a DD for 60 miles a day, and being able to do blues and some blacks at Rausch.

The additional weight of steel makes little difference in overall weight and/or mileage. @Subway4X4 had aluminum which didn't do well at all. If @Mobtown Offroad has any of those 1/4 inch ones left, that would be my choice.
