I have a home defense m-4 at my house. The shotgun is strictly for any outside emergencies.

No I understand completely. Yes the objects are very different, but the principal is the same. I agree, having a locked box inside a locked car is safer than just a locked car. But in reality it will only slow down a thief and not prevent them from getting the firearm.

Unfortunately the owner of the firearm now has to also unlock two items if they are in the event where they need to defend themselves.

    None YET!!!
The main reason I installed this is while driving. It is very uncomfortable and almost impossible to unholster while driving. And seatbelt is a pita to get on/off. When I get out I take gun with me unless it's no allowed. I like being able to still use my console for other things with out having to unlock a vault. Just my personal choice and very happy with it .

Makes perfect sense. That way it does absolutely nothing for you if you need to protect yourself because the guy who shoots you while robbing you is clearly the real victim.

Random purse swinging by posters in the thread aside, here is an informative picture.

As far as the topic, I may or may not have some devices which can propel 9x19mm pieces of metal at a high rate of speed in my vehicle. I don't mount them, but if I did I would hard mount similar to the OP.

The one in my truck was specifically purchased for CC and for my truck. I have no need to transport back and forth from house to truck due to it not being my only firearm. its out when I feel it needs to be and locked with me only with access if not.

There is the option of having this in your console and installing a lock box under the seat. If you have to leave the firearm in the vehicle you can transfer it into the lock box.

The beautiful thing about Colorado. A business can have a no firearms permitted sign and it's not legally enforceable. If they happen to see my weapon they can ask me to leave(at which point I have to, but no repercussions).

But I'd love to have a holster somewhere in my vehicle. My carry position is very inconvenient in a car. It's a bitch to draw and gets very uncomfortable for any drives longer than 30 minutes. It'd be nice to have a holster on the vehicle to keep my weapon while driving.

no, but those look interesting, both for vehicle and for home vault. Interested to hear any personal experiences with these.

I haven't tried them, but they may be decent for home under coffee table/side of nightstand type stuff. I wouldn't use them in a vehicle unless it was inside the center console-something like replacing OP's inside the cosole holster for a magnet. The magnet won't hold in a wreck and any unsecured item will become a missile. Good way to pistol whip yourself or your passengers.

I have a Console Vault for when I have to disarm for going into a school or federal building. (Post Office usually) If stores have a "No Guns" sign, I have a no money policy and go elsewhere. It's not for overnight storage but will slow down a smash and grab thief.

I am a CCW permit holder in my state, I'll mention however you do not need a permit in NH to carry concealed anymore.

I used to do that in my previous car with my Remora holster...but it had leather interior and the Remora gripped against it really well. However, in my Taco, it's cloth so it doesn't wedge and secure as I'd prefer.
