    I'm not military but I do love weaponry & I just watched a video on the Phalanx in firing mode.... Holy shit !! its like a shredder for incoming bogeys, pretty impressive for a "machine gun"

    i have been stationed on a couple ships, and these are pretty sweet. also known as the CIWS (close in weapons system) it is a Radar guided, 20MM cannon. Rate of fire is between 3000 to 4500 RPM. sick huh? i think most of the other stuff is classified to be honest.
