i'm confused about what "boat" and "shermans" means. is this a slang i dont get or are you actually talking about a boat?

i agree, you get nowhere being labled a pot head. and i agree making pot your #1 priority is bad. but whether you believe it or not there is some middle ground. we dont all smoke like snoop dog. i dont think its right to label a recreational smoker as a pot head or lump them in with the burnouts you knew in the past

I smoke cigarettes. A pack every day. Bad enough for you I know.

    But doesn't everybody have vices?

I think boat is slang for PCP and Sherman i will speculate....like Sherman Illinois where all those John Hughes films were set like 16 candles. Watching those would make a person want to do drugs!

Being a pothead/burnout/stoner is something i don't and never will associate myself with as well. I think that would be like calling a recreational drinker an alcoholic.

We were always chasing that high. Like I said earlier, once I was on the "outside looking in", I didn't want to be that person.

It starts the same for everybody I guess. You get that first high and the next time, maybe you get some skunk weed, som weak shit. Then your buddy produces something new and you move over to it. Then something new down the road. My ex, she would smoke pot and then later it was coke and then smack, the whole time ragging on other people who did it, even though she was doing it and when she was with her friends, whatever they did, it was okay then.

    Good lord!

i don't know anyone who's used weed as a gateway drug but i know plenty of people who "graduated" to coke from alcohol, and it's an ugly ugly thing to watch.

When i asked if that's how meth got started, i was more wondering if that's what prompted people using chemical agents with the methamphetamines to produce the drug. I don't know much about meth.

Alcohol is many times more dangerous than Cannibus. I work in an ER and see people come in all the time and the traffic accident results of ETOH intoxication.

Withdrawl of which caused DT's (Delerium Tremens), the shakes with hallucinations.

    It will kill you.

I HAVE NEVER seen a person in the ER for Cannibus intoxicaiton. They have had it in their system as an incidental for some other admit reason, but not for the direct effects of.

x2, I don't have kids, but if more people took the responsibility to teach there kids about certain things as you do, society would be a much better place IMO!

    heres my take on it

weed may or may not be bad for you...or better or worse than some legal substances (some of which i use every day)...however...currently...it is ILLEGAL...

is it ok to fight for its legalization? sure...but that doesnt allow you or anyone else to partake in illegal activities in the meantime

as for phelps...i honestly believe that the correct outcome came about...i believe he was smoking pot...and i believe the sheriff did the correct thing by investigating it (and despite what anyone thinks...it didnt change operations in that dept...thats why depts have narcotic teams)

i think it turned into a huge media spectacle and it turned an evil light on the sheriff, SC, and pot charges in general
