Hey guys, just installed some Sylvania ZXEs after the silver stars I had burnt out. Must say I am very disappointed with the light out put. What would you guys suggest who've run the above mentioned lights? Looking for good white colored light with good output without going HID

For "stock" I would of went with Phillips Xtreme; but for an "upgrade" look at the Narva 100/55w "motorcycle" bulb (pn: 48911).

Haven't had the Silverstars but I've had Philips Xtreme Power and PIAA Xtreme white bulbs. I like the PIAA ones a bit better but both were good in my opinion.

Thanks guys. Gonna go with the phillips as they're 30$ on Amazon. Now what replacement fog lights would you recommend?

zxes are junk. I put a bulb in my truck just to compare.

They say right on the back of Sylvania's they are comparing the output to a standard halogen at 80% power to simulate a "worn out bulb". Yes they do wear out, but basically it's a rip off.

Here's the pic, ZXE on right

    Whiter yes, brighter? Not really

The ZXE's are just meant to be white not bright. The Ultras are brighter than the ZXE's.

The package claims "our whitest and brightest light" and claims they have an "HID attitude" I see the package every day at work.

I don't even bother with halogen bulbs anymore. I vote spend a little extra and retrofit

Same here, and I've found a few people having issues with the life out of the ultras.
