Every year they hold a new car show in the Philadelphia Convention Center, as I'm sure they do in most major Metro areas. For those of you not familiar with one of these events, nearly every manufacturer is represented and for about $10.00 you get to go and sit in most of the cars which they offer. They would not let me sit in my beloved Aston Martin DBS (bastards) I did get close enough to breathe on it though.

My take on a few vehicles and manufacturers:

Ford completely screwed up the new F-150, it is possibly the ugliest damn thing on the road. The interior is plastic, which is unacceptable on a truck that tops out near $50,000. Dodge did much better on the new Ram.

Ford's Flex is interesting, but the interior is made up of ugly boxy shapes and mismatched upholstery patterns.

Pontiac's G8 GXP is awesome for $40,000. 415 hp. six speed, Brembo brakes, truly sweet.

I cannot understand why Hummer still exists as a brand. Really great off road, sure, really ugly and impractical, for sure. Whoever put the H2 in my pictures on 30 inch rims, I have nothing to say to you.

The new Toyota Versa is really nice, I wish we hadn't just bought a Subaru. As much as I love my Tacoma, Toyota is a pretty frump company. No nice trucks at the show, just boring, tan, Sienna's, Highlanders and Rav's. The models were cute, though.

The new Corvette ZR1 was there. I have little love for the Bowtie Company, but, wow, what a car! Supercharged V8, 638 hp, 200+mph, carbon fiber body, wow. I'd beat on one for a little while if given the chance.

The Belle of the Ball, for me, at least was the Jaguar XFR. 510hp supercharged V8. A really sharp, new design direction for Jag, very nice. Shame my damn oictures didn't come out. 2nd to the Jag, was the Aston Martin DBS. I'm pretty sure I could be James Bond in that thing.

Check out the photos, I'm sorry ther's not more, my camera died and I took them with my phone and somehow lost quite a few.

Dash gave the same sales pitch as Vince, they must have gone to school together.
