Who in the Phoenix area performs this using quality (non-rusting) materials? I have read in other threads that some people cheap-out with materials. And that some kits have possibly been made available.

I know of SDHQ in east valley ... even if they have long wait times.

    Others suggestions?

Busy morning with work meetings. Just called SDHQ and they said $1100 installed.

DAMN. And I thought my Borla Y-pipe was pricey.

I cannot quite recall the exact provider of a "high end" kit. Started with "A", something like ASF or AES. I specifically mention not-rusting and he said that the kit is. $530 for parts, total $1100. They are booked out until end of April, so seems they the public has confidence in them.

Based on the $513 price and name AFE, I think it would be this: https://afepower.com/mach-force-xp-2-1-2-cat-back-stainless-steel-cat-back-exhaust-system

A less expensive but still quality recommendation is welcome.

Are you just looking to reroute the y-pipe around the transfer case or a full reroute with custom exit? Planning to keep the cats, etc?

Just get that drop-bump ... cats can stay if it is easier. If a re-rout AROUND the transfer case does it, that would be enough.

Okay yeah so that's just the y-pipe.

AFE isn't worth buying since it still goes under the transfer case.

URD is the cheapest bolt-on kit, but it removes the secondary cats so the exhaust sounds like crap afterwards IMO.

I've seen a lot of people post about having a custom reroute done for ~$200 - but no way to know what materials were used.

Borla is one of the more expensive setups but it's super clean. Comes with the necessary heat shielding. Keeps the cats but significantly reduces restriction, feels great on the top end and sounds beefier than with the stock y. Fitment could be a little better but it's definitely usable.

Pic of the Borla installed on my 21:

Borla lists only long-bed options. Is there a short-bed option?

AFE option looks a straight shot at $513 and does not specify bed length ... perhaps part of the labor is to split the exhaust lines.. Borla long-bed y-pipe is $760.

Borla website says 60699 works for all 3 options; access cab+long bed, double cab+short bed, double cab+long bed

I should have clicked on the item, not taken the listing page at face value.

Still, $760. I guess I just need to support it enough to tighten the bolts and hangers. Just says that SDHQ wanting $1100 for labor/parts is not as far out of line from the "cheap" $150 inserts of rustable pipe.

I need to think if I am going to succumb to the "disease".

A quick google search finds it for substantially less.

Several at $679, one at $645.

Pulling back a little from the precipice. Maybe $450 more for RCI transmission plate and converter covers to add to RCI front skid that is purchased. I still need to buy an 88P.

    Thanks for that reminder.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I had two of my cars done at Scottsdale muffler. They have stainless pipe if you ask for it and that's all you should need. They're pretty skilled and they'll do exactly what you ask of them. The piping on my Land Cruiser was complicated and they got it knocked out no problem, you don't need to bring them anything they'll make it on their own.

Please post pictures after and let us know how much it was. I need to get this done as well, skids are waiting in the garage.

Shop said $110 if Y-pipe intact, $140 if more creativity needed.

The y-pipe is the same regardless of bed length (I have the Borla and I have a DCSB).

The AFE y-pipe still goes under the transfer case - you don't really gain any clearance with it.

Custom or Borla is the way to go.

Yeah ... looked at the actual item instead of the listing page. My bad.

The shop that was recommended sounded "yeah, done that a dozen times ... no sweat". AFE looked dodgy with inlined CATs, and Borla install instructions made it appear easy if you have a lift to elevate the truck.
