Again, Bulldog is doable in 2wd, but for those weary about it or can't get the permit in time, it's just a warm-up trail before the meet. I'm sure Butcher Jones and 4 Peaks will be easier for some to attend after the meet.

Well looks like I had better get a permit.

 

Easy peasy, send them an email. Usually get a reply within a couple hours on weekdays during office hours. Good for 6 months. Have to have it with you when out there.

So we're doing multiple trails?

Bulldog and what else?

 

We'll plan accordingly at the meet but that's the plan. We'll keep it simple and just do Bulldog Canyon in the morning, then the trail leads out real close to our meet point at Pebble Beach. Once there, we're no more than 10min away from the Butcher Jones Trailhead and can mix 4 peaks road into that at well.

 

So should I get a pass to go out there?

If you can make it to the trailhead by 9am that morning then do it! just an email, follow directions HERE
