Phone Direct to back of HeadUnit

I currently have my phone mounted on a 67Design mount above the radio with the wire running into my dash and out near the factory USB plug (I hate having loose wires everywhere in my cab). On my list this coming week is to tear it apart and see how I can work turning the factory USB plug into power only and connecting my phone directly into the back of the head unit behind the dash to stay hidden.

Anyone do something similar already?

i have a power connector coming through my air vent for my phone and my ipod cord routed to the glovebox. i also hate wires everywhere

you can find a power cord that hooks into the fuse box.

 

Seems like the easiest thing to do would be to move the one that's in the dash to somewhere behind the dash, and then just wire up a fresh power-only one to the existing location. Shouldn't have to splice factory wires that way.

I think this is the one you want. Pull the head unit out, swap out the USB cable for this one and then hook up your phone connector of choice, USB-C, lightning etc.
