We have a great resource for the external views of professionally built gen 1 bumpers:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/1st-gen-offroad-bumper-options-gallery-w-pics.292292/
And a plethora of threads about plate bumpers beyond that. I found several front hitch installs (like this one) and reinforcements but mostly on the gen2 threads. Largely, few threads show good photos of how folks and companies have attached to the frame.

If people have time to snap photos of how their professionally built or DIY hitches and bumpers tie into the trucks framing I would greatly appreciate it.

Now since this bumper is for a first generation Toyota (1983) nothing really was made to fit a Tacoma.

As it turned out I was changing the radiator to get to the lower bolts the bumper cover must be removed on pulling this off I discovered all that was there was the plastic cover.

I had the Smitty Built bumper sitting in the shop.

First thing I did was run a piece of 3/8" flat across where the hooks bolt to the bottom of the frame then bent brackets to tie into those 4 bolts holes drilled and tapped for M12 x1.25 bolts003.jpg

Then I made piece that went between the frame rails allowing another 2 bolts 002.jpg

Here is a picture from the front I took sheet metal from a Lincoln DC 600 to make platforms to sit the marker light/turn signals on.

Itis also tied into the front body mount bolts

I wanted to make a piece of expanded metal to go below the bottom of the grill I just never got to doing it to many other more important projects.

I really suck at taking pictures because I never take that many001.jpg
