Glad it's working for you. You guys can continue exactly as you were doing. If our system detects that you embedded a Photobucket pic, it'll automatically attach it to the post within a few seconds. Only hiccup is that your signatures containing Photobucket embeds will have to be changed manually to embed from a different source.

@tcBob is there a limit as to how many photos folks can have in their album? (Bandwidth)

Yes I don't remember the limit off hand. I'll get it for you this evening.

If you need to store large galleries, www.flickr.com and www.imgur.com are a better way to go.

I would not suggest imgur, their ToS states the following:

Just checked my build and all the pictures are back up! Awesome work @tcBob !!!

This is the only forum where I have seen the forum staff proactively find a permanent fix to the problem. I'm truly impressed with the dedication shown here. Kudos, high fives, pats on the back are well deserved... I'd buy you a beer if I could.

Hey man, you worked a miracle on these forums. Is there any way you could work your magic and do the same thing on toyota-4runner.org? I use Flickr, but the majority of our threads is now completely destroyed thanks to photobucket.

What we do have in the works is a tool that's going to let people import their build threads from other forums into TW or its sister sites (Tundras.com, Jeeps.net, 4Runners.com), and it'll fix any broken photobucket pics during the import.

We can't fix the issue on the other sites but we can help prevent the threads from going to waste.

I am very thankful for your efforts. I've only posted two picture threads here using Photobucket, being "new" to TW, but applaud your actions and effort in getting this sorted. Other sites where I did a lot of contributing of images over the years have not taken the same action, which leaves me pretty deflated to say the least. I really happy that this site has dealt with the Photobucket disaster so skillfully. Thank you.

I don't understand how this is such a big deal. I take a photo on my phone and email it to myself, download it to my computer/external hard drive from my email account and upload it to a post on TW, and viola. It's there forever. What's all this 'photobucket'/3rd party hosting nonsense all about

If you were born before the internet, like me, you'd be able to answer your own question.

    A bedtime story for you:

I'm the olden times, before sex robots, forums could not display full res images, or would require third party hosting. This was because storage was not cheap, like it is now. If you uploaded direct to a website, you only got a small grainy thumbnail. Additionally, some forums only displayed forum-upload images to logged in members.

Sites like Photobucket and Imgur, solved thus issue by allowing 3rd party linking to embed full size photos that anyone could see. This doesn't matter much now, but a lot of old and great build threads were photobucket based, and many forums that people still visit today, are still in old formats that require something photobucket.

Next time you borrow dad's Tacoma, ask him about the old times.

God you made me feel old for vividly remembering all of that. haha I remember waiting on baited breath for 10mb to download over 56k and sometimes 28.8k modem. Also lets not forget that Imgur is just Reddit's little bitch pic hosting site and nothing more, it does not want you to use it for anything more than meme linking on forums and they reassess pictures that are high traffic from places other than Reddit for compliance to their ToS.

    Does no one like imgur?

The reason it exists is because a Reddit user was upset at the other photo hosting services (notably Photobucket and Flickr) so he went out and made his own photo hosting service.
