Better to ask what I have not done.
Here is a few photos i took on yankee hill playing with the manual mode image.jpg

    image.jpg

I got a few more of those water pics but dont have them on my phone yet. I believe i was at 2.5 sec, 100iso and 16
    With no filters.

I learned three things on this trip. 1) i can still get these photos with out a tripod and it helps if i do a 2 second delay to hold it steady. 2) i need a few tripods:anonymous: 3) some polarizers and nd filters need to get ordered.

    Some land scape shots too

    image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

I like playing with these cameras!! Just got to get better at not taking a billion photos and only liking 100. Took 572 photos and have 52 that i like.
Good thing these photos dont have to be developed or i would go broke...

No kidding - digital gives you the room to screw up as much as needed. I decided to start shooting on the highest RAW setting in case I'd like to print something with some size. I came close to filling the 8 GB card recently, so I picked up a pair of 32 Gb. So help me if I fill all those up...

I think the highest percentage I usually get is 10%.. Usually closer to 5%. I think I uploaded 90+ today and had 5 I liked.

So now this could be a stupid question but is there a limit to the size of sd card i put in the camera (canon rebil t1i or nikon d5200)???

Only reason why im questioning this is our trail cameras flat out state that they will not work with a card larger then a 4gb card:confused:

Most camera's will take the bigger cards but your risking a lot using them. Something goes wrong with the card you've lost a lot of photo's. I use a 32gb now because my RAW files are around 80 megs.

Not to mention the time it takes to download a 128gb card.

yeah i would just go with the max that your camera says it will take.

I have not jumped on the raw format game since I dont feel like messing with those size photos. But I guess if I wanted to enlarge and print stuff, I might be stuck with smaller sizes.

Most camera's RAW files are around 20 megs. I have a 36mp camera so the files are huge.

After I got this one I had to max my ram out on the laptop to 16gb so it would speed stuff up. It would take 5 minutes to load a 6 shot HDR with RAW files. Now I can move right along with them and can do 3 in 5 minutes.

 You guys must have slow comupters. Mine has not givin me any trouble down loading the photos in a decent manner. The only thing that sucks is taking them directly from the photo acount onto here and waiting for them to de-highres them selfs.

    in raw or jpeg?

I havent tried raw... but dont see the need to. My laptop is like 4 years old, so it may be ok, but I'm not going to try.

I picked up a new desktop, and put 16Gb of RAM into it. I'm using an older body, so the files are in the mid-20Mb range. I've been shooting 50-150 a pop, and it doesn't take long to move them onto the hard drive.

I've only gone so far as to tweak RAW with the supplied manufacturer software. Once you move to RAW, you'll wonder why you hadn't been doing it the whole time.

Raw. Its what bob told me to shoot in and i have not seen any reason to change yet im still picky about how sharp the photos look on my laptop but that could be my eyes. But raw is the better of the two so i might as well keep shooting in it.
