A long time ago they used to make what they called sleeper tops or half-tops. I can't find anyone who still makes them, so I'm wondering if someone might care to photoshop one for me? I just want to get an idea of how it would look. I suppose the back of the shell should end roughly even with the back of the gas door. My truck is white, so I'd really like to see what the white one looks like, but the blue one would probably be easier to do.

EDIT: Based on a really rough MSpaint hack job I did on the blue truck, the back of the shell should probably extend a bit farther than just the back of the gas door.... maybe somewhere between there and the center of the wheel opening.

    Thank you very much! :)

Here's an old one for a full-size truck

And here's a truck I'd like to see photoshopped

Here's another one that may be easier to chop

    .... so maybe I'm NOT crazy. :D

This type of shell would be PERFECT for my wants/needs, and for my little girl to ride in the back. ;)

Ok, here's my MS Paint version (with apologies). Photoshop would probably look so much better, but this gives an idea of what it would look like.

Holy crap, I can't believe I actually found one on CL for a mid-size truck. Picked it up for $180 today. It will serve me until I decide if I want a full size shell or not.

Doesn't look too bad either. Almost looks like a x-tra cab with a really short bed... but all in all, looks good. Something different and I can't believe you found it in white!

I know, I held no hopes of finding one for a mid-size truck (for ANY truck, for that matter). I was just browsing for shells and ran across this one. Couldn't believe it! It's not a bad fit at all, but I will have to do some work where it seals to the back of the cab because it's got a full opening with no window, and the seal is less than perfect.

I like the one Steve 0 photoshopped a bit better, because it's a high-end, form fitting shell. But I also found out it would be nearly an impossible task to hack one shorter like that, because the Gen 2 bed is a couple inches wider at the front than at the back, so the front and back sections would not match up at all.

Does it go to the bottom of the bed in the back? Just trying to figure what it does!!!

No, there's a floor about 3" below where it sits on the bed, and has a solid (non opening) rear window. The side windows open, and there's access through the sliding rear window of the truck.
