The grey needs to be darker and the black line needs a fixin. i'll try it again and see if I can fix it.

    Nice. Thanks, I appreciate it.

I was thinking the grey from this truck or car is perfect: and actually the paint scheme on that truck is what I would do if I had the money. Keep the gunmetal color up top then do that stripe in black then have the bottom half of my truck super white.

It's been a while since I used Paint.net but the steps you should take are:

Create a layer for the grey paint. Paint over what you want grey. Set the transparency for that layer so that the details of the underlying picture come through (you don't want to try and a paint within the lines on the original picture, it'll come out flat and it rarely looks good). The advantage of using a layer is you can add to or erase things without affecting the original picture.

Do the same thing for the stripe (separate layer from the grey and original picture). Adjust the transparency down until you can see some of the details of the truck (door gaps, etc). Around 70% would probably work.

Another thing you can try is to select a region and adjust the brightness of that region (I can't remember if Paint.net allowed you to do this or not).

Here you go...little grainy due to the noise in the pix, but you get the idea...I took some liberties with the lines of paint to roll with the body lines of the truck...I also think ditching chrome wheels in favor of black or gunmetal would be a nice touch.

Nice job! I was thinking about getting BMF Novakanes.....they would match up pretty well.

Like this but with that black line seperating the two colors would prob look good.
