I'm going to use this Purge Valve (Vacuum Switching Valve 90910-12245) for another application. It's found on 2001-2004 and 2000-2002 4Runner, 4 and 6 cyl.

Trying to source the proper connector and it would really really help if I could get a picture of one face-on.

Attached is a youtube screenshot of the valve an its location in a Tacoma, next to fuse box, with attached connector

Couldn't find any in a junkyard.

    Thanks for any help!

That's the EVAP purge solenoid or "EVAP VSV". I probably have the connector somewhere at home in a spare harness. But you should be able to dig it up with one of those names.

This is the picture you want I'd assume though, it's a side keyed connector unlike the more common VSV connectors with bottom keys (the orange and blue ones)

I ordered a 90980-11162 pigtail (aftermarket). Toyota just calls the valve, a 'Vacuum Valve' or Valve, Vacuum on the box. Clearly some differences in nomenclature.

I have a couple FJ60's, and on the charcoal cannister, there's a 'Outer Vent Control Valve' which is the same but with an early style connector. Long NLA and used units are junk.

Just trying to adapt this later one to the FJ60 Evap system, since I'm stuck in Kalif Smog Hello.

    Thanks for the help!

Oh I gotcha, I'm all to familiar with flubbing NLA parts with more common newer ones. Just had to do that with a 100 series center diff lock actuator on my 80 series since that actuator is NLA now. Good luck passing smog, I hope that valve does what you need it to. The earlier valve from the 96-2000 tacomas is more common and cheaper if you need to source another one BTW.

I think the earlier one is the 90980-12130 Valve and it's a bit different (if I have the correct part #). The later one (12245) has much larger ports, same size as the FJ60 Evap hoses and will bolt right up; don't know if the size differnece means anything, but I'd like to try and keep as close to OE as possible. Just want to try and get the waterproof connector right so it looks factory. :)

I have the valve new, it's still available from Toyota, but thank you.

I was actually thinking of 25860-75160, which is the same hose size as the other you posted.

    upload_2023-8-17_12-42-32.jpg

Uses the normal VSV connector with the bottom keying though

I haven't seen that one before, looks like it would work. Thanks!

Just to close out this thread 'cuz I hate a story without an ending:

The Evap Purge valve above 90910-12245 takes a 90980-11162 Connector. If you order that from Toyota, you just get the housing, but on fleabay, there are pigtails under that part #

    Cheers.
