Testing pick-up coil at the connection using pins G+ and G- Haynes manual says 185 - 275 ohms. My meter shows .253, not sure if there may have been a typo in book. Truck starts fine but misses and bucks at anything over around 2500 rpms.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
What leads you to think you might have a bad pick up coil?

Is your reading 253 ohms or .253 ohms was the period in the wrong place?

Meter in the correct range ?

A bad pick up coil is usually open depending on your meter it might show Over load or the infinity sign.

My meter reads .253 on the ohms (20m-200) setting. With no codes , and a hard miss at shifting rpm range, I had to start process elimination and that side of the motor is easiest to work on so already tested and cleaned MAF and IAT they both stayed in range though the IAT was off by 50-60* based on outside vs inside air temps.

so would a reading of (period) .253 be acceptable?

Since your truck starts and runs but for the miss. Your pick coil is within spec.

I am guessing the fuel pressure has been checked Fuel filter changed?? No codes many times points to a fuel related problem. Bad or old stale gas?

The normal tune up items inspected or changed. What did the spark plugs look like?

    Good Luck :fingerscrossed:

Going after fuel side next. Truck was a daily driver for the last 18 years, until this started .
Used this issue as an excuse to buy wife new Carolla and took over her 01 tundra, retiring this to woods and beach truck.
