I ordered my truck about 2 months ago after doing a vast amount of research. I came across several issues that were mentioned here in the forum. I figured ordering the truck was the best idea for me. Not only did it give me more time to sell my Subaru, but I could get the exact options I wanted, and a little better of a deal. I ended up getting a TRDSDC4x4 with towing, mud flaps, and door sils for $32,222 before tax/title/reg. About $34.5 out the door.

I showed up and took it for a test drive. It shifted great with no odd sounds or vibration. A complete 180 from the TRDS I test drove 2 months ago. I did the paper work and off I went.

I snagged the dog and put him in the front seat on a seat protector. Attached a leash from him to the seat belt. (My backseat protector is on order). Unfortunately, that didn't stop him from wanting to climb into the back and scratching the center arm rest (lightly). Does anyone know of a way to buff it out? I'll be returning the front seat cover and leash and ordered a rear seat cover with a hammock like build to prevent him from climbing to the front. I prefer him up front with me but his loss now. Safer in the back anyway.

So, for those who are listening to a lot of the negative complaints, try not to let them steer you away. Do your due diligence and go drive one for yourself and make your own decision. I couldn't be any happier with this truck.

Best thing you can do now is cover it. Get a set of Wet Okole covers for the front with the neoprene centre console cover.

Congrats on your new truck. Here is what I am trying to figure out. How did you get a better deal through ordering it as oppose to a truck already on the dealership lot

Here are some pics! You get a better deal ordering rather than buying off the lot because they aren't losing inventory.

Nice! Don't know about fixing those scratches, but this is a good place to post, lots of experience and good ideas from the members on TW.

I'd question that the theory. Bought at least ten new vehicles in my life. They are always willing to deal more on an inventory vehicle than non-inventory.

Anyways, glad you love your truck and got a good deal too.

You might try Honda spray cleaner and polish can us it on just about everything ,it does not stay greasy like other products.

Ordered vehicles are sold units so no risk or interest cost. All dealer is doing is handling delivery & is hoping you fall for high profit warranties, wax protection, maintenance pkgs, door Ding pkgs, etc & list is growing on what they try to sell you at the end. Many dealers make more on back in then front end.

Vehicles sitting on lot cost the dealer on long run, but if on lot too long a dealer may want to drop price, but technically cost him/her more sitting on a lot. Also, on in stock units, sometimes the wow factor or want it now mode goes into effect & a dealer can play that to their advantage.

Sold ordered units help dealer out, as they increase volume, volume increase allocations & extra factory incentives a dealer may get & a buyer rarely sees. With the added Volune & allocation a dealer can get more limited availability high demand vehicles such as 4Runner or Tacoma TRD Pro's And mark them up as to demand & scarcity.

With the new Tacoma's either way should not matter a great deal, they fly off the lot anyway u look at it.

Congrats and good luck with the new truck. I have the TRD Sport DC as well and have a dog. I fold down the rear seat and put a no-slip pad on top of the folded down rear seat. My buddy stands on the non-slip pad with his front paws on the console cover. He's not scratched the console cover but it gets dirty and doesn't clean very easily.

My buddy loves it when we go wheeling, same position bouncing around like a bucking bronco! We go out at least once a week to keep the 4wd parts moving and all ya know.

The console cover I will be looking for a replacement at some time in near future.

That is interesting I guess you learn something new every day. I was under the impression that you get a better deal on inventory trucks. Thanks
