Thanks...I'll go research on Tire Rack.

If you don't mind...could you point me in the right direction on a sharp rock (gravel road type stuff) resistant tire in the neighborhood of stock size (245/75/16). Denali Hwy tends to shred tires. Someone in our party always has one go down practically every trip. Thanks.

The geolanders were great driving an hour back from discount last saturday (nice warm dry weather). That is why I got new tires because of thie blizzard and the stock tires were pretty much bald. This was the test and being a drifter and scca road racer/autocrosser for 12 years, these geolanders didnt pass the severe snow storm.

most LT AT tires should work fine if you go to a MT tire
when driving on the highway in wet wather they may not
    work to well

After reading your needs, I think you would be happy with BFG AT's. I got 80k out of my last set. Great winter traction, and the tread isn't so deep you will feel them drifting. Good luck with your choice

Go up in size just a shade, 265/75/16. I believe they come in that size.
They should still fit your truck without any lift. I got the 265/70/17 for my truck which is almost the same size tire. I love the look and the tire is great!!

As far as how good it is, I tried to order tires here in Canada and it was back ordered like crazy!! The railway, the RCMP and the city police have ordered everything that was available and then some!

    Thanks everyone!

@DigB... yes, my truck came with 245/75/16. I wanted it a little lower and wider so I went with 265/70/16. I think I'll go with 265/75/16 as there are more choices. I like the duratrac a lot. I called my friend at discount before driving up there for an hour and he will get them for me on Monday. He said he can get me the same price for whatever I want for $170 each. I paid $130 each for the geolanders.

    My choices are:
Duratrac, BFG all terrain T/A KO, or the Silent Armors.

I had a set of Bridgestone Revo's and I got 75k out of them on an '03 Tacoma 4x4 extended cab I thought they were a great tire awesome in the snow and ice, though they decreased my fuel economy. When I put a new set on Yokohama Geolanders the guy at the tire shop was blown away that I got 75k out of my Revo's. Did about 30k on the geolanders and I thought they were great too (less expensive then the Revos) but I decided to run the truck into a dump truck and total it so I didn't get the chance to see how they would have held up.

i also run the hankook dynapro's - many people on this site recommended them to me, and i run them with no issues in the snow (we average 170 inches of snow per year), great highway tire, quiet, and less expensive than almost anything else out there. not the most aggressive looking tire.

bfg at - very overrated tire, older technology. i've had them. they DO last forever (i got 100K out of my last set) but you can buy a cheaper tire with better performance, in my opinion.

the GY silent armors are also an amazing tire, especially for bad weather - the reviews on them are outstanding, and since you are not offroading, these would fit your needs perfectly. they are expensive, but since your friend is hooking you up, these would probably be my first choice.

i've also run the dick cepek fc II - another great choice for nasty weather but with great highway manners. sort of a cross between mt and at, like the duratracs. i would recommend these in a heartbeat. in fact, i will be putting another set of these on my other vehicle (suburban) when the oem tires are shot.

another very recommended tire - mickey thompson baja atz - had these on my last jeep rubicon - comes with a VERY thick tread that lasts forever, like the bfg at's. simply great snow performance and wet weather. great highway ride, quiet. more expensive than the hankook's. not as aggressive looking a tire though.

    good luck with your decision.

I run the silent armors and love them. They have the best snow traction out of any AT I've driven on a truck. And they are quiet. Just an amazing tire for the money.

Of the Three, the silent armors are more street and the other two are more off road and you might see a tad decrease in mileage with the agressive ones but...it really isn't that bad. It sounds like the BFG's last longer than the Duratrac's but I believe the Duratrac's have a softer compound thus are better in the winter and on ice. But that is my opinion. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.
