My two cents: if you are planning taking advantage of the offroad capabilites (I won't except for camping- I wanted a work truck to haul stuff around town) AND like all the bells and whistles the Ltd has to offer, it is cheaper to get the OR with all the premium pkgs and towing added, and I believe the biggest differences are the leather seats vs cloth, and 16" vs 18" wheels. I figured that out after I already had this truck on its way, but I don't regret my purchase. As for every individual, it depends on how you are going to use the truck-- the value YOU are measuring in what is being offered--, and then money comes into play. Of course, availability and your needed (vs wanted) timeline of delivery plays a role.

Do the 2015 Weathertech floormats fit in the 2016?

No. The WT mats aren't in production yet. Dealer said it may take a month or two.

Thank you! I love the taco in your signature- can you tell me more about the wheels? I love them. Also, which bed cap is that, and do you keep it on year round?

Congrats! Beautiful truck.. I have to say, the Limited looks the part.. At first I wasn't in love with the wheels, but the more of them I see, the more I like them.. Same with the Sport wheels.. At first, I thought they looked awful, but as soon as someone posted one with some nice AT after market tires, They looked much improved..

Nice truck, with the color I like the most. I have to say, you sound a little pissed and a bit unrealistic about what you just purchased. Yes, it is nice truck. Yes, it is a good update to the 2nd Gen, after 10 years. However, according to Toyota's own webbsite, the front legroom increased by 1 inch, the headroom decreased because of the sunroof and the back legroom is exactly the same. Not sure it could be so much roomier based on those facts. Basically, what I'm saying is, you don't have to run a billion dollars company to know when one is doing the basics after a ten year wait and charging top dollar for it. The good thing is with the GM twins selling well, Nissan about update the Frontier and Ford possibly re-entering the field, I'm pretty sure we won't have to wait 10 years for the next major update.

    Awesome Taco. Two questions:
    1. How do you like the leather seats? I have a silver 2013 Prerunner and like the gray fabric I have in it. But I am probably going with the Limited on my next Taco.
    2. You custom ordered your truck?
    Thanks

Went and sat in an MGM Sport today... And I agree, the 3Gs aren't very photogenic. In person, the front grille isn't too bad. It's still pretty big and I won't be trading my '15 anytime soon, but I wouldn't be opposed to driving one in the future.

Congrats on the new truck! That Limited looks pretty nice!!!

I'm not really sure where "pissed" comes through- I don't know how I can make it any more clear that I am ecstatic about this purchase. I would neither suggest nor expect that every person (or even many people) should feel how I feel about the '16 tacos. I got just about exactly the value that I was seeking, and that was available on the market. Value is subjective, and this worked for me- so my assessment of what I was seeking compared with what I received is not unrealistic. The 3G may not knock your socks off, but it did for me.

Climbing into the seats, it is noticeably more roomy. I was just sitting in a '15, and it is noticeable, and I'm not the first person to say so. Not like moving from a studio apartment to the penthouse- but it is there. The center console is slimmer and lays out differently, allowing for more room where it counts. The doors are thinner as well, and there is more room side to side. Eye height compared to where the windshield lands is different. My point is that it made me happy, and I recommend you try it for yourself.

Valid point- more market competition will help everyone be better, and the consumer ultimately wins. I hope enthusiasts continue to voice their opinion on what they would like to see changed. My point there was to people who suggest major changes in a flippant way- saying "Toyota should just do this, or just do that". It isn't that simple to "just do" things.
