Some of the worst panel fits I've seen in recent years have been on new Honda's, believe it or not. My daughter's new Civic looks like a second grader put everything together. It's horrible. The dealership has her going to the BODY SHOP! For a new car....a body shop! I wasn't with her when she bought it. If I was there, I wouldn't be writing this now.

Just look for any damage. Everything else should be warranty stuff.

Very cool to see this thread pop up. Mine should be hitting a dealer within the next two weeks.

Just picked one up last week. Rolled out of dealer showroom. No test drive or anything just looked at paint quality and gaps.

Wonder what if any difference there would be between the China plant vs the Mexico one. Mine is coming from the China one.
My 2 previous tundras came from Mexico and both had concerning issues within the first 2 years under 50k miles.

Do you have a friend who is good at looking over cars? i would bring them along. your time will be split with the paperwork and the upsell of the warranty that feels like a time share interview.

Just checked and yup Mexico it is.
At least it's not the same dealership from the 2 tundras.

Still all in my head… but I’m keeping the chrome bumper!
All come from either two plants in Mexico. Y or am M identities either one. Both are said to have their strong points. Another added joy to make us go crazy wondering if a problem is because of a certain plant.

You will feel a certain amount of vibration from the gas pedal, that’s just the truck being”trucky”. Good luck and go with your vibe, you’ll know if it’s right as rain.

$39,200 OTD. Not the best and not the worst, by far, based on what I've been seeing. I live in Virginia Beach but bought in Elizabeth City, NC because local dealers here still have at least $5,000 markups on Tacomas. Larger markups on the TRD PRO - I saw two $8,000 markups on those.
