    Did that twice. Works awesome!

And for every item the finance guy asks you if you want to purchase this or that, just answer with a "Nope".
Followed directly with one of these:

"I'd like free OEM quality tires yearly"

"Looks like you could give me free car wash/wax for life"

"I'll take new engine and cabin air filters every 5k on your dime"

"How about you throw in free oi/filterl changes for life" ( I actually got this one on my wife's 2016 Corolla. I've never had pay for an oil change yet since new. The dealership has changed owners in the past two years and still honors the free oil//filter changes).

Grind them as much or more and see what sticks.

Those closing sessions are recorded and they are required to try the up sales. Just cut them off short with a polite no.

Dude, just laugh and joke and have fun. Just keep saying thats why I am buying a Toyota. No, I don't want that, thanks though.
Just laugh and have fun. Once they realize that you just don't care about what they are selling usually it just stops.

Look it's intimidating, but it really doesn't have to be.

Let them engage in small talk, be polite, and whenever an offer comes up all it takes is a firm "no, thank you." That's it.

Sometimes they will push and offer an extended warranty that's practically free. It isn't. Again, "no thanks, let's just skip to the finance terms."

Bring a calculator. Ask questions. Don't sign until you understand exactly how the terms sheet was written up. But again, the friendlier you are about it, the more they will want to answer. Don't put their guard up by making it a hostile transaction.

And congratulations, it's a big day. Celebrate it.

Don't give in to fear. Fact is fear and sex are the biggest sellers. So unless it's some smoking hot broad across from you, put on your big boy pants and just say no when they try to scare you into all these add on warranties.

Just smaile and say no thank you. If they push, say "no means no."

Good advice above. However, if there is something you're interested in (for other brands I've done pre-paid maintenance, for example), this is somewhere you can likely negotiate. Know your prices on those in advance is tell them if they can do lower than that, you'll take it. Otherwise, as others have said, keep saying no. You can also play Tetris on your phone while they are going through it to make the time go faster.

My dealer was great, they told me about extra warranties available, left the room so I could look it over. Then came back and I picked what I picked, no hassle, no push for more. Very pleasant experience

I disagree with the never trade in, in my state it off sets the tax, so that's money in my pocket. If you buy private, well, that's more of a at your own risk type deal, at least with the dealership there is more people and some big corporation you could go after.

As others have said they HAVE to pitch, it’s their job. I’ve never bought a vehicle during these (low inventory) days. Usually when I buy I’ve done all my negotiating via email/some phone. I give the dealership a set time (usually have to be in and out within the hour) though admittedly I haven’t financed in a long time (not sure if that saves a lot of time and I actually think I may get a worse deal). I have usually bought my vehicles in (relatively) smaller towns and they skip the warranty talk ( I believe I sign things saying I declined).

I would enjoy the experience of getting a new vehicle. If you tell them you are in a real hurry and they insist on going over pitches for warranties and such, just take a long your laptop and do work or heck look up YouTube videos while they are pitching. They may have to pitch but you don’t have to swing as the game has been played (buying the vehicle). Good luck to you and be safe.

    @pushgears

    This right here.

It blows my mind how rude some people insist on being, but I guess they chalk it up to bad experiences with their car buying purchase.

The person helping you out, whether it's the salesman, the sales manager, or the finance manager...they're people too with a job they have to do.

Be respectful, be polite, and if you truly don't see value in a product they have to offer, then you have every right to decline.

And be honest with your reason, "I see no value in xxx"

If they try to build value, politely decline as you've had great luck in the past, have never needed it, and for that reason see no value.

I guess I am in the minority here. I don't go in with a pre-conceived notion. This dealer sounds fairly inflexible. I get it. They are in business to make as much money as they can. If I were in your shoes, I would start with that ... begin the conversation with the notion that you didn't get a great deal, they did you no favors and gave you no gifts and point out that you are now ordering the accessories that you want online because the price is better, the service is better ... and it is a matter of principle!

But why not listen to what they have to say? If you frame it like that from the beginning maybe they will give you a better price on something you might be interested in. Maybe not. But certainly worth listening. For example, maybe you are interested in the extended warranty. You don't have to buy it right then and there but it wouldn't hurt to listen and see if they are willing to give you a good price on that. If not, you can certainly say no.

Just saying it doesn't necessarily have to be a negative, awful, terrible conversation and experience. I think a lot of people go in with that idea and then create that reality.

Why not try to start with, hey, I am a business man, you are a business man / business woman ... if you put something on the table that works to my benefit, I am open to it ...

 Best price I ever got for a car was when I went shopping without my ex. I lined up the basest of base model Rams for a decent price (16k, it was stickered for 20.5) and before I went into finance I called her to get mutual agreement. (As any large purchase should.)

She blew her top and read me the riot act for even going car shopping. I might not have been on speaker but the whole showroom could still hear it through the earpiece.

The sales guy saw the writing on the wall and knew that the deal he was already 3 hours deep into was about to evaporate. So he blurted "will it make her happy if I knock the price down to 15k and throw in power windows and an alarm system, installed for free?"

    Boom. Sold. :D

Have fun with buying a new truck - it really should be a great day. Eat something and have some caffeine before going in - that way your body isn't complaining about being hungry and really just let them give their sales pitch say no and move on. Finance guys are just more experienced sales guys that have moved off the sales floor. It's their job to sell you and they are good at it but if you already know your answers to their pitches, no matter what they try to throw at you, you're golden. Just say no and laugh the whole way home at how they couldn't get you to bend to their will.

    This lol

Sounds like they made it very easy for you to be blunt and direct with your intentions. They probably have to ask you about everything anyways since it's their job, so just be courteous and tell them no to each item. Maybe ask them for a checklist so you can just hand it back to them blank.

    Love this approach.

I traded on my 2010 but I didn't want to risk selling my old vehicle privately due to my history with it..engine blew in under 5 years of normal use so I didn't trust it.

My approach was "it's a Toyota so I don't need a warranty" and laughed.
