I'm sure this has been asked before, but what's the purpose of the vent cutout on the front fenders? Cooling for disk brakes , aerodynamics, or just looks?
Personally don't like the looks of it myself. Too busy like many other aspects of this truck.
As others have noted, interior does look kind of cheap. Still need to see one in person.

No it's molded in. I'm wondering if they have pre-sprayed bed inserts at the port, and swap them in?

Don't worry your old model is still a good truck, it just looks old now.

Toyota should run an ad - "This isn't your great great great grandpappy's truck".

While I think the smaller center console screen is better integrated into the dash than the larger version, both make me think Toyota can do better.
The small screen is too chunky and that bezel screams 2008 displays. Does it really have to be that chunky?
The larger display looks like an afterthought of "how do we bolt an ipad to the center console".

    What would Sheldon say?

    Welcome to FRIDAY!

Yeah it looks like Toyota was trying way to hard to bite into the "lifestyle truck" look and just ended up going way overboard and it's cringe.

Shit looks like something a 20 year old backwards hat skateboard kid would drive around with a monster energy drink in his hand.

GM does the same thing with the Colorado/Canyon. I've read on their forums that it is a styrofoam logo that is stuck there and then sprayed over with bed liner.

Ford does that I always wondered what they were attaching to the front of the bed. It looks alright but it seems like a failure point where cargo could damage the styrofoam and now your $600 liner is compromised.

By the time you've worked long enough to be able to afford one of these trucks...you're so old you NEED these steps to get in!

That’s really weird. How many logos do you need on one truck? It’s ridiculous how they feel the need to put “Toyota” or “Tacoma” on every piece of the truck. We all know what kind of truck it is already.

it’s become very common on trucks. It’s just an emblem that they stick on the bed and spray over when they bedline

They come together on the upgrade package. Doesn’t read that way on the site but owners here have confirmed

$50K for that :rofl: The shifter reminds me of my 1996 Camry. 4th Gen won't be my next truck.

    Thank you for sharing.

Great write up and pics. This is an interesting spec because it pairs a stereo and moon roof with the cloth interior. This spec didn’t exist in the gen 3

What is the deal with that shifter? It looks massive. Why are we back to a push button and vinyl boot instead the of a gated shift pattern?
