I'm not a big fan of the bare carbon fiber look (especially stickers), but that looks like a quality kit. I've never really understood the appeal other than for weight saving (it's big in the sport bike world). But to each his own.

Seconded, but I my doubts that that is real Carbon fiber cloth. Also what happens when it gets hot?

Also Carbon is attractive as it is about the same weight as ABS, but has a fairly high tensile strength as compared. It is awful in compression due to its brittleness. It's sorta like steel without the compressive strength of steel.

Just got done building a half carbon, half Kevlar racing boat hull.

I think it looks pretty darn good. I go back and forth with the carbon fiber thing. I had (factory) in my 99' Mazda Troy Lee and I liked it a lot.

It's probably legit (according to the ad, they charge 30% extra for real carbon fiber). Since it's only used for looks and not for strength, they probably just put one sheet of carbon fiber inside the resin. I'm guessing that's how they manage to keep the price down.

I'm kinda liking the wood-toned ones but that might be a bit too much wood. I like the marble too.

That looks seriously cool - i did a bit of research and see there are all kinds of these dash kits available (gee you learn something new every day!)

Is this like some sort of 'stick on' solution, or are the parts replacement plastic components? So, for example, do you remove the OEM dash component and reinstall the dash kit, or do you aply the dash kit component over the existing OEM component?

I like you choice of color!

it is "stick-on" type. You literally just stick it on top of the oem dash parts. They use red 3m automotive trim tape to hold it...so you dont have to worry about it falling around/moving around for a looong time. Before you apply it, you have to "clean" the dash with alcohol(to get rid of grease, dirt, etc.) Once it's clean your good to go.

That's good. I've seen plenty of products with "REAL CARBON FIBRE!1!1!" Turns out to be a print of it. Most people will buy anything if it has carbon in it. Ever see a boat with "Kevlar Reinforced Hull"? The "reinforcement" is a 12oz strip about 4" wide of Kevlar down the keel. It does absolutly nothing but drive the price up.
