Hey guys. New member here and came across this post looking for a place to off road in So Cal. My name is Kip and I am located in Newport Beach. I drive an 06 4x4 TRD Off Road Double Cab Tacoma with a 3" OME Lift.

I wanted to ask a few questions about this trail.

    1) Directions on how to get there from same PCH and the 55? Is there an address I can plug into google maps?

    2) Looks like a pretty smooth trail. Are there places to 'mess around' maybe with some rock obstacles?

    3) Is there a website with basic info on this trail and other trails near me? I have been searching but most of what I turn up seems to be geared towards bicyclists.

    4) Anything else I should know about this trail? I might check it out in early April if time permits.

    Welcome to the club Kip!

    Im not good with directions...lol:eek:
If you want to cruise down some time let me know...
    Here's a map:
    http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=Trabuco+Canyon&state=CA&address=%5B31211-31287%5D+Trabuco+Canyon+Rd&zipcode=92679&country=US&latitude=33.65925&longitude=-117.58625&geocode=STREET
The trail we take is "Trabuco Canyon Road" which is also known as the Holy Jim trail.
Not much areas to "mess around" here, pretty much just a straight trail...

Let me know if/when you decide to go...
    I'm there a lot...

    Thanks for the quick response.
So looking at that map, do you guys go 241 to el toro road and pick up the trail from there? Are there clear markings for the entry of the trail? Trabuco Canyon Road looks like (from Google Satellite) to be a paved road. Is it Trabuco Creek Rd off Trabuco Canyon Rd what you guys are taking? And if yes does it dead end at the top or is there an outlet? How long (distance and time) is the trail.

Are there other areas around here to go off road? I will certainly check out Santiago Canyon road but was wondering if there is anything slightly more technical. Not looking to bash my truck up, but would like to make her sweat a little :)

    Thanks again guys.
