    Many thanks. :)

And sooner02r1, it helps to understand the environment around here. We're a very friendly and helpful bunch, highly sarcastic, and most importantly we're supportive. The attitude and elitism prevalent on other sites isn't welcome here.

You are more than welcome here and we're happy to have you! You seem to have some great knowledge to contribute. Just alter the tone slightly.

I'll update my signature to help spread the word. :p

I've got some great pictures from earlier today. I snapped an AllPro upper control arm clean in half, strapped the suspension together with some ratched straps, and idled my way 8 miles out of the desert after stopped several times to re-fix everything.

For now I'm welded back together and leaving for home tomorrow!

I'll finally be back online regularly tomorrow. For now, here are the pics I promised:

My front coil-overs are shot and will be replaced as I find time this week. Ignore the rake. :)

For anyone considering installing a set of these, become intimately familiar with a Dremel and give yourself lots of time. Tons of sanding is required for a good fit. I spread this out over 3 sunny afternoons and a good amount of beer.

Ok now I have some questions. Are the front arms stock length? What size is the lift? What size are the wheels? Also the front light bar??? Did you make it?
I want to do a 3in lift with 17x9 in american eagle type 102 with blue beadlocks. I think that with the larger fenders I can get a wheels with more offset to fill the fenders.
By the way how did the testing go? I am doing a Barstow to Vegas the day after Thanksgiving. On a bike though!

Just a couple questions for you:
    1) what made you choose Walker Evans stuff, i've read limited reviews on them, and after watching your testing video on ttora, seeing the front's blown is dissapointing
    2) The rear seemed EXTREMELY stiff in the rear, looked to be bouncing all over the place, you going to make any changes, or did you not have that huge fuel tank filled, thus wieghing 500 pounds +/- lighter
    3) Whats with the driveshaft hoop, and ladder bars on the rear? who came up w/the idea?

Looking forward to seeing how the truck does in baja... Just my .02 cents, i'd think about using a known-trusted suspension comany, bummer to see those walker evans junk after 1 day of pre-running

Lack of knowledge led me down the initial W/E road. After I had them I figured I'd give them a shot. They really are nice hardware for light offroading and crawling, but they just didn't hold up in the desert. Granted, my truck is WAY heavier than pretty much anything else out there so take that into consideration. I have a set of reservoir Fox 2.5" shocks in the garage awaiting my attention some free night.

The rear shocks still have the as-delivered valving in there. I'm waiting for my 60+ gallon fuel cell to come back from FuelSafe so I can weigh everything and figure out what valving I really need.

I wanted the driveshaft armor on the truck, and the fab shop came up with the sick design. Since it'll see more rocks than desert (being from NJ) I armored it like a crawler. Weight aside, it can only help out in the desert.

I'm still catching up after 2 weeks away...

Stock lower control arms as dictated by SCORE rules. Offset is 4.5", I think. (don't remember, unfortunately) 3" leaf springs in the rear, and the front in that pic is probably lifted 1" due to worn out coils. The light bar was a custom fab jobbie.

A bike out in that desert would be awesome! The truck took a hell of a beating but I did like having that A/C blasting. :D

Take plenty of pictures! I'm going to post mine in the next few days...

from what i hear something did go wrong in Barstow.... VERY wrong.... hows the truck and whats the fender status?

dude, you really need to make sure you know what your'e talking about before you open your mouth.... especially when it's to bash someone elses ride. MPP2's suspension is FAR from stock, and i have a feeling the only reason he's not rocking a long travel setup is so he can compete in a specific class in the Baja that prohibits it.

..... that and he's probably broke as hell after getting the rest of his truck Baja ready

1,000,000 pounds! Honestly, I'm not sure. Haven't weighed it just yet but it's a tank these days.

Mileage isn't too bad. Just cruising at the speed limit I can get 17-18mpg, but around 85mph I'm closer to 13.5mpg. The Scanguage is a fun little toy for things like that. :D
