    No, but you do. According to the goodyear website that tire is designed for a 7" wide rim, and the max you should consider running it on is an 8". :eek:

    Well the tire place mounted them on and said they were fine and id say they know what their talking about. They havent given me any problems.

    How wide are the stock 16" alloy wheels? What is the maximum size wheel I should expect to fit on a truck with stock suspension without rubbing or trimming? The stock tires that come on that size are 245/75/16. Could I fit 265/75/16? What about 265/75/17? (dealer might get me FJ TRD wheels) I think the 265/75/16's are a little over 31"? Correct me if I'm wrong.

    I just don't know how a 245-70-17 rubs... its gotta be the non stock rims as that size is almost exactly the same size as the stock 265-65-17 that comes on the truck....and by almost I mean your tire is SMALLER than the stock tire. So Unless you didn't read the size of the tire or your tire shop is staffed by a bunch of monkeys there is no way that should be rubbing.

    Exactly. It's the 9" rims causing the rub. I would recommend any rough offroading with that tire/rim combo. :der:

    Well i dont know how either, but they do. And im not a idiot so obviously i read the size tire on my pickup. But im taking it back today to figure out why its doin what it is.

    Doubtful... Why do you think KPT helps everyone with wheel and tire questions? You put a narrow tire on rim that was too wide and all you're going on is some tire shop said it's ok. I've argued with mechanics before about my truck, they're human and can be wrong just like everyone else. Hopefully you don't have any problems but taking jabs at another member who's trying to help isn't going to make your situation any better.
