Wow... People are just trying to help you, you're running a tire way too narrow for the rims they're mounted on. If you're comfortable with it, fine be on your way but I'd personally be pretty upset if a tire shop went against a manufacturer's recommendations, didn't tell me and only told me I'd be fine. If those tires ever do fail, you'll be the one stuck holding the bag. I promise you Goodyear will void any warranty once they find out they're not mounted on the correct size rims.

 They obviously don't know the FACTS that I have stated about this particular tire size/whel size combo. So clearly they do not.
When you take it back ask them why they ignored the recommended rim size by 2".

Thanks for stating the shop's name so that people on here know to avoid them.

I'm concerned for the safety of those riding in your vehicle. With the rims being that wide, the bead is being stretched and weakened.

Well im taking my pickup today and asking them why the ignored that. To be honest, they had a 265-70 goin on there and then randomly went into this like panic over those not fitting so he took the only tire he had(the 245-70) and threw it on there. Me, not knowing much about tires, thought that was fine.

Even then 265/70/17's arent approved for 9" wide rims. They are really designed for 285's to 305's. I wish you luck at the tire place.

Well i was going to get the BFG Rugged Terrain in the 265 tire and its approved for 7-9 inch. So hopefully everything will work out. You wouldnt happen to know what backspacing and offset i need for the 17x9 wheel and 265 tire not to rub anywhere, would you?

Those are nice looking tires. If you get them post up what you think of them. I don't think many people have them.

Between 4.5" and 5.5" backspacing will get the job done. The offset varies depending on rim width and backspacing. Just focus on the backspacing number.

It looks like your Revolvers have 4.5" backspacing, because that's the only specs the 17x9's come in. Do you know exactly what you are rubbing on? Some have a minor rub on the mudflaps running 265/70/17's.

I'm running 265's on a 9" wide wheel with 5.4" backspacing with no rub.

Alright, preciate the help here. I just want to get the wheels right. Ive also heard that a 4.5 backspacing and -12mm offset is the best for our pickups? Am i right or did i hear wrong?

Folks call 4.5" backspacing the "best" for our trucks because it allows you to run either a 265 on stock suspension, or a 285 with a 3" lift. So it's a "one size fits all" kind of wheel.

The -12 offset simply means that it is a 9" wide wheel. (A wheel with -12mm offset that is 9" wide has 4.5" backspacing by definition).

Well im thinking the backspacing they put on my pickup isnt right, because if you're supposed to be able to run a 265 then my 245 shouldnt be anywhere close to rubbing.

Yeah that's why I was asking if you knew what exactly it is rubbing on. If it's the mudflaps, that happens sometimes and you might have to lose them.

At this point with the 245 being quite a bit skinnier than the wheel itsself, the wheel is stretching the 245 out and causing it to rub. I bet you wouldn't have any worse rubbing with the 265 than with the 245.

I was wanting to put the 265s on there and then take the flaps off. But it seems like they just won't agree and say they will rub too much but hopefully i can get somewhere today.

I would take the flaps off before you go there, just so that if that's the issue they won't give you a hard time about it.
