When my Mother in law passed away the Family agreed to have an Estate sale. All my Wife's family went through Her house and picked up things that they wanted to keep and then the rest was to be sold.
After everyone was finished my Wife said "You can go through there and see if you want something too"
I walked straight into the kitchen and pulled out the big broiler drawer on the bottom of Her stove and walked out with 6 old cast iron pots and skillets with covers. My Wife was grinning from ear to ear :D. My Wife's Sister was :argue: I told Her tough shit. She had Her chance.
We have Granny's cornbread skillet and use it all the time. My Wife gave our Son and Daughter each a skillet.
All of them are special because my Wife's Father made them all when He worked at the foundry.

My wife uses it as decoration lol. I’ve got a couple lodge skillets but my mom has some cast skillets and Dutch ovens supposedly from my great great grandparents during the civil war.

Would love to see some pics of those old cast irons. Older is better. That's what I tell my wife.

I’ll have to get some pics when I go back home to SC. Those pans have never left that state or my family.
