What's up everyone, here are some pics of my 2 week old Taco messing around. I took her out to Glamis this past weekend and everyone was impressed when they would see me driving it through the dunes. I also hauled a 4 seater RZR on a car trailer (felt so smooth). The dunes were fun specially through the gigantic bowls behind old's hill. (I didn't get a chance to take pictures) :( Everything is stock minus the 2.5 lift up front. I'm waiting for my rims and tires to arrive (selling my stock bfg's & rims asap). Oh and the other picture was taking in Azusa while going through some mud :D

    Nice.
    I am new to forum. I am undecided on getting a 4 X 2 or 4 X 4.
OP-Nice pics of Glamis and Tacoma duning. What did you air down to? Were you in 4 wheel drive all the time? Did you try to climb Olds in 2wd w/ only diff lock? Did you make it to top of Olds no problem?
I will prolly not dune in my future Tacoma, but I want to make sure I can get by with just the 4 X 2 with diff lock in the sand, around the washes and soft spots around camp. I know, I know, I will never regret getting a 4 x 4, but budget is big factor.
Thanks for your opinion and feedback.

lol dude I had that damn 4 seater RZR broken down in the huge bowls behind olds. 2 guys on quads stopped to ask if we were okay and we told them that I was going back to camp to pick up my yota and they kept insisting that it wouldnt make it back there. lol A few minutes later they saw me coming down one of the bowls and they started video recording. I love this damn truck.

And yes, we're going back for Thanksgiving. Lets meet up and dune it. My buddy has an FJ and is also up for a dune ride

if your going for sand i suggest 4x4 or this might be you amftz5_cbabc9f30b7cd545ec5da53c03c6a29c86cee251.jpg although him and his truck are bad ass im going to assume this also had to do with luck because this happened at the end of the day and his truck was beasting everything else

    Welcome!
I asked the same questions before getting my Taco. I couldn't decide between the 4x4 4x2 trd or non trd. I think I made the best decision. I duned it with the 4x4 on high and it didn't struggled one bit. I didn't use the locker in glamis because you can only go about 5mph according to toyota. My truck made it up olds like a piece of cake, I had it on 4x4hi and I air'd down to 12 all around. When I went through the big bowls I air'd down to 10 pounds all around. it was my first time driving a truck in glamis and I was impressed by the truck and so was everyone else lol

If you don't plan on offroading it then just save some money and get the 4x2 but don't plan on using it anywhere besides the flats otherwise you'll get stuck

Yup, you def need a 4x4 for sand and messing around on other surfaces. If you have an offroad toy like an rzr/quad etc then just get the 4x2 and save the money

Haha. Thats what I said on my 2012 prerunner. I put like 5,000 into that one over a year. Traded it in for a 2014 4x4 the day after they came out. Put all the parts from the 2012 on the 2014 and then dumped a bunch more money into it. Ive added color matched grill, plasit diped badges, roof rack, all pro skid plate, all pro bumper, led lights, good year AT's, blaclrock 909b rims, 5100s in the front with toytec coils, 5160 shock in the back with a dakar leaf pack, a bed cover, bed extender, bed rack, cb radio, locking tail gate, and alot more. Just check out my build. Goodluck trying to keep it simple this stuff is addictive...

They came out on September 13th. I bought one on the 14th. The only white 2014 4 door 4x4 trd offroad in Northern California at the time.

It's 2 of kbvoodoo's bed brackets from tacomaworld and a rooftop cargo rack.
