Just got back from a week of fun in CO! Got to see some cool stuff and even took the taco out on the trail... not too rough though still had to have it in good shape for the 12hr drive back home.

Very nice... care to show the map location/trail name for that? I'd love to hit that if I'm in the area some day...

Here are a few more pics... sorry about the one of the rock, not sure why that got in there.

These are all pics from the first trail I went on last week. The trail is near Lake City, CO. All of the trails in that area are old mining roads from the late 1800s and early 1900s.

The trail I was on is called Carson Rd. It takes you to 2 ghost townsites. One is called Old Carson and the other is New Carson. I think it takes about an hour to get to the 1st ghost town after you leave another trail that goes over Cinnimon Pass (which we did later).

Pretty much all the old mining roads are 4x4 only and accessible only during the summer. (some are open for winter snowmobiling along the continental divide)

We did take a 2 wheel drive 4-Runner on an easier one for about 1/4 of mile and that was enough of that.

I've been going there to that area for about 18yrs with my family. 1st time to take the Taco. It did awesome!! It is probably the most beautiful place I've ever been. Pics do no justice.

I thought I only took pics from the Wager Gulch Trail(aka carson rd), then I looked at that photo more closely after your comment...

Why yes, that is the famous waterfall on Nellie Creek Trail!!

    I'm impressed!

It's been a while, but I've obviously been by it LOL. It is not gigantic but it's unique the way it has the 90* turn in it.

    Living in Colorado sucks.
    Almost all of the time.

Loads of warm sunshine, low humidity and no chiggers is awful, but at least the mountains are far away and ugly.

The front range is definitely getting crowded, but this is still just a damned fine place to live... thanks for posting pictures, one needs to be reminded that what's in the backyard is important!
