My point was that its only 150 pounds. But still strong. Some of the post i read guys were saying flat beds weigh like 500-800 pounds.

If i ever made a flat bed i would just get a 6 foot trailer like this cut the axel and tow hitch off then weld it on the back. Thats the easy way. Think about it, its already strong and light and wired lights

My beds cover the tires out of respect for other drivers windshields. That and if your tire isn't covered here, you WILL get a ticket. That why I said couldn't daily that tube bed

I used this tank from Amazon it is 12 gallons, and sits at the front of the frame, ,to the right side as much as possible. it is plumbed trough an RV water pump to an outlet on the back. it fills from a port on the front wall on the drivers side, there is also a vent up in the wall, and a gravity drain low on the right side.

Well a bit of an update, I built some sideboards, they are fordable, and removable, added fenders, and some other accessories.

Didn't see myself ever owning a flatbed Tacoma but here we are. Currently trying to get some new taillights on it. Then I realized most lights are 4 wire while Toyota harnesses are 5 because turn signals are separate.

    That’s a good looking truck.

Is your flatbed mounted to the original bed mounts? Is there space between the flatbed and the truck’s bed mounts? If so how much higher is the flatbed than the frame?
It looks like your wheel wells are maybe 3-4 inches above the deck.

Late to the party here. Wish I could downvote this comment. My steel flatbed is way overbuilt (1/4" diamond plate) and weighs about 600 pounds. The stock bed is about 350 netting me a gain of 250 lbs.

Agreed. They don’t have to be heavy to be useful. Mine is 15 lbs over the factory bed + bumper + hitch combo it replaces and is very handy. It would probably be right at the same weight if I hadn’t set it up to carry a toolbox sunk through the floor.
