Were they placed there by the utility company to prevent trespassing?

No, they were placed by hunters leeasing the property on either side of the lines past that point, they do not have the authority to block any access to power lines

Debating on buying this and trying to haul it. Wont be more then once or twice a year because we use a tent trailer for weekend camping. This is about 4000lbs dry weight and wont be much more because everything will be at our camp. Says 345 lbs hitch weight and with the 2 axles it shouldnt be TOO much. I have the regular 5000lbs hitch and obviously we can only tow 3500 per spec. But Im wondering if anyone has experience with something similar size?

I personally wouldn't tow it more than 10 miles unless I absolutely needed to. That is a lot of trailer, does it have brakes? You probably would never see 4th or 5th gear towing it.

It should definitely have brakes, and I have a controller. Your right though it would be a tough ride. Our land is a 3.5 hour drive to where I would park it. I towed my current camper which is much lighter but also my ATV and more gear that was likely close to 3500lbs and it was ok. But this is probably another 800-1000lbs and Im not the guy who likes to do anything dangerous on the road anymore
Heres a pic of what I towed

prob gonna trade in for a new v6 in the next year or two. the 4cyl does fine except on long steep hills. i have to downshift to 3rd gear just to make it up the hill.

yeah the mower is 1500lbs and the trailer 750-1000lbs so i'm hauling over a ton.

when i bought the truck i wasn't mowing lawns. i worked at a honda auto plant painting cars and i never towed a trailer. i only had an atv to put in the back of the truck. things have changed. :p

Towing the camper and bike up there in the pic. The bike is over 900lbs and the camper is about 2000-2200 lbs loaded. Towed alright with the E rated 33s but struggled a few times

Picking one of these up next week. Left the factory with all options and everything at 3050 lbs. Should be a good challenge but under the weight

I pull a smaller one at 2300 dry. Honestly I would not go much heavier. It does pull it, but any type of serious hill and I am in second doing 30 mph.
Im running 488 gears with auto. Let us know how yours does.

Picked it up. Hour drive home with 33s, no re gear, no tonno cover, and 3" lift, it was a little harder then I wanted. Once off the highway it was simple but the wind was bad on the highway. Starting to consider some options because I still want to be able to put my ATV too in the truck bed like I did with my old smaller camper.
    1. URD supercharger, about $7500 or so installed I would guess
    2. Buy a V6 and swap my parts over then sell mine stock
    3. Regear and hope it makes it much better

Nice camper. How much does it weigh? i imagine the full height makes it more brick like in how it tows also. My popup is right around 2200 lbs and it really seems to pull rather easily. Of course my truck is an RC without the lift and tires so its probably a lil happier getting up to speed. As much as I love the 2.7, I would probably look for a V6 if I was in your shoes. Nice looking truck too.
