I tow this around, on two lane, flat, 55mph speed limit roads. The farthest I go is a campground 75 miles away. I very seldom have to shift it out of fourth. I average roughly 14mpg when towing. It is equipped with a load levelling hitch, and trailer way control. I also run five speing leafs in the back.

I don't, nor would I recommend towing this much in hilly terrain, or interstate highways.

yeah its the 2.7 with cold air ,intake exhaust,E3 plugs, hids.I do like in western ny witch is hilly and yeah the 2.7 works harder than some of the other trucks i have had but it still does anything I need it to do.I wouldn't go any heavier that car i pulled.

It is more the weight of the puller than the strength. Pulling isn't hard, stopping is and when you have a bigger rig, it is likely built to handle weight better. In conculsion, I concur.

so with trailer and loaded with fuel/coolers/people etc your probably right at the 3500lb mark right?

are you a five lug? if so you have 3:73 gears right?

i have 4:10's and im not sure how gear ratios work really but i think that means it should pull a little better

    A few other thing's I've "towed" recently...

    This schmuck:

    IMG956507_8b7333c1911c6a287bccfadef5a30eddef75ab1e.jpg

I'm assuming he was backing up way too fast to show off the sweet stacks and ran over a cement pillar that basically "pole vaulted" his rear into the air when he tried to drive back over it. There's also a bumper in his bed from some other SUV that I'm assuming tried to pull him off it. I actually yanked the poles out from under him cause pulling him wasn't gonna do anything.

Also took all this about 200 miles to the lake... it's a basketball hoop that is totally fused together so we couldn't disassemble it and my jet ski on the back on a custom carrier I built

Front Suspension IVD coilovers and UCA's, Rear set up is OME leaf pack with OME shocks. Shrockworks front bumper.
I tow a 25 ft performance boat that probably weighs close to 6,000 pounds total with the trailer. I have just pulled it 25 miles to the lake and back but it handles it pretty good.
