Oh, yeah. I remember one of my trips to the big A when a custodian at either APU or UAA was stomped to death by a moose while he was walking, some time after students had been pelting the moose with snowballs that day. The biggest bull moose I ever saw was looking out the chain link fence from the green belt as I drove out of TSAIA (Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport, located next to the "Chef Billfold" Bill Sheffield railroad terminal) in a rental car. The moose population of the Anchorage Bowl numbered about 250, equal to the moose population of the Copper River Delta, but that was more than 10 years ago when I read that in the Anchorage Daily News (likely when Craig Medred was the outdoors editor). Retired out of Cordova after 21 years (16 as a shop steward with IBEW-LU1547, 14 on the Terminal Radio board of directors, 20 with the Harbor Dept.), just before they made front page news with 18' of snow on the ground so I no longer had to explain where the town's located. One of the fishermen I knew had a nice T100, and I had to ask him what happened to it after he showed up with a bigger lifted Chevy the next season. "I didn't want to have a moose roll up over the hood again..." and moose eyeballs do not reflect headlights.
Have a Happy New Year, and "Hey, let's be careful out there." (My favorite Hill Street Blues line.)

Well... I asked a retired Alaska State Trooper and author for permission to use his quote when I retired here, and he granted his approval. Mike Kincaid, author of Alaska Justice and other books, was quoted in a local newspaper interview that this area is "a lot like Alaska without all the biting insects..." The annual precip total is much less than the places I lived and worked, too.
I'm glad to see you have the right snow moving machine, as the Cordova Harbormaster told me to call around for quotes, and I wound up accepting the quote of $2200 for the big Honda track-drive out of Palmer, and the dealer begrudgingly accepted the advice I'd been given from the Honda dealer in Valdez. The latter was the only dealer approved to pre-install the carburetor anti-ice kit with 9 hp and larger engines, since Cordova rarely got below 85% relative humidity on any day, so the guys in Palmer had to spend a little more time setting up the first of a number of big Honda snow blowers. I was often asked to describe where Cordova's located after I retired, until newspaper front pages carried photos with 18 feet of snow on the ground downtown. I haven't had to explain since! :taco:

I was going to ask how you like the lights but kinda pointless to ask for another few months. I'm tempted to just drop the big money for the DD or BD but I'll wait over the summer look for a killer sale

I’ve had them on since February so I’ve actually been able to use them, hahah. They work really well and still look great. I had to get the adapter kit for them to mount up but all in I think I spent $130… I don’t think you can go wrong with them.
