Header install went very smoothly, no leaks, sounds nice. Butt dyno is pretty happy too, seems to have freed up some ponies, trucks overall feel is much happier.

I admire you lol, I love seeing guys do awesome builds for cheap. It's inspiring because I am broke, and also cheap myself  Good work!

Thanks. You gotta shop craigslist, buy and sell with the guys on this site, be creative, and most of all TURN THE WRENCHES YOURSELF. I don't have a shop, I just lay in the dirt and wrench on my junk. BTW that taco will easily last you through school, just take care of her. Is that a 4x or a prerunner?

4x4, 2.7L, 4 speed auto, but I'm wishing I had the 5 speed now because I know with the 5 speed I would be getting better mileage. 3 more semesters left of college, after that I'm going to either mod the crap out of this thing, or go for a second gen. access cab, 5speed, 4x4, 4cyl. Not too sure yet.

I had an 01 standard cab, but mine was base model, I mean no tilt steering, no trip odometer, not even a cassete deck much less a cd player. I modded the wee out of that thing, and I still get upset when I think about getting rid of it. That was the best truck i ever had.:(

I know ow that feels, I shortly had an 88 hilux. Let a friend borrow it and he wrapped it around a telephone poll. Luckily he didn't get hurt, but my nice $500 truck was gone after that incident. So, I traded my 07 Scion tC for this thing back in October and I really like it, but I guess I'm kinda picky cuz this one I have I would not call the best truck ever lol. For a four cylnder the mileage is shit, and the thing has a couple of weird phantom vibrations that are considered normal but just weird to me. That's why I'm thinkin about 2nd gen. 5 speed already. But, I'll at least have this for another year and a half at the very least so I'll make the best of it. . . After all it is still a Tacoma :D

So I thought I would make a list of mods that I plan to do.

Next big mod will be a bed rack. I know its getting done alot, but I really like to fab, and I got some tricks up my sleeve for this one.

Rear springs and shocks when I get the $$$

8 or 10 inch sub monted where the factory tool pouch goes. Anyone ever done this?

Bumpers and sliders i'll also be fabbing myself.

    winch maybe

    and some smaller things

    window tint

    mag light mount

    grey wire mod

    deck plate maybe

    paint wheels

Took today off and built some bed rails. This will be the basis for the bed rack that I plan to build

    Some materials being layed out.

I'm very happy with the headers so far. I was pissed when I got em cause all the gaskets weren't included. They look like a stainless version of the pacesetter (from the pics I've seen of them).but I've heard bad things about the pacesetters leaking, I have no leaks so far, and everything lined up with factory egr and cat.

I have noticed an improvement on the low end, higher rpm's is even more noticable, but it mainly just feels alot less restricted.

Thanks trd7. Got drunk last night and ordered an AAL and rear rough country shocks with my paypal money from selling mudflaps and shit on here. Not really excited about it, but its just temporary til I figure out what spring pack I want, and get some $$$. I refuse to spend $500 on the wheelers pack, and the packs I like are all 3" lift. So this will have to do for a little while.

Any of you guys with AAL's out there let me know how you like em.

I'd like a nice rear suspension system, but it may have to wait for SAS;)

I have an AAL, it was ok for the first couple months. now it's pretty much sagged down to where it was. My next truck will definitely just go straight to the full leaf pack

I just don't wanna lift the rear 3", and then I can't level the front out without tearing up ball joints and cv boots.

There's a local place about 15 mins from my house called Notches but its just mud pits on a powerline. Some real nasty stuff, that'll eat your shit. Nice country side though. Ill get some pics next time I go. Im saving up money to get the truck ready for the next URE meet, now that ive got a job. :woot:
