Update. Friday, we took Piggy back to see Dr. Pote for a follow up and have the tubes removed. He told us that if we had brought her a few hours later, she would have been gone. She was pretty distressed. He was extremely happy with her recovery.

She goes back in tomorrow to have some dead tissue removed and clean out the infection some more. The wound is pretty gross, kinda puss oozing and smells funky. We expect her to lose a fair amount of skin. I think that once the infection is cleaned out, we can go after the root of the problem, the hygroma. These can be a pain in the ass and likely require a skin graft to cover the wound. Fortunately, due to many litters of puppies before we rescued her, she has plenty hanging off of her under-carriage. Maybe the tummy-tuck will improve her self-esteem in time for beach bikini season.

thanks again for all of your support. I will keep you informed.

Thanks, she is back to being a large pain in the ass again. Peed in her bed and the basement carpet this weekend. She also killed Gary on Friday.

Piggy was back at the vets yesterday to have her wound cleaned out and some dead tissue removed. Dr Pote is very happy with how things are going and wants to see her again late this, or early next week for the same again. Once we get the swelling down, we can look at fixing the hygroma.

I took some pictures of the hole in her leg, as some were asking. It's kinda gross, sorry if anyone is nauseated. Believe me, it looked WAY worse before doc cleaned her up.

Piggy was back at the vet today. The hygroma had gotten quite large and started to turn septic again. She hadn't been able to keep water down and would not eat for us yesterday.

Dr Pote cleaned up the infection and got pretty aggressive with the hygroma, removing some material and breaking up some of the mass.

When I went to pick her up, it looked like someone had been shot in that room, blood all over the floor and her. They got her wrapped up and I brought her home to take care of her for the night. She is starting to really come down from the anesthesia now and just laying in her bed, occasionally making loud groaning noises and flopping about as she cannot move well all wrapped up.

We take her back tomorrow or the next day to see how the drainage is going.
