Does anyone out there know....is it ok to run two auxilary reverse lights off of the reverse light power supply? I have two 55w H3 fog lamps that I want to run with my reverse lights for backing up, is it ok to use the reverse lights power supply or should I run a seperate feed from a switch linked to the fuse box or will the reverse light have sufficient power to run these auxilary fog lamps while the reverse lights are on without damaging or overloading my electrical system?? Please help....thank you, oh its an 08 tacoma crew cab 4X4, dont know if that matters

i've seen people do it before, but to safeguard yourself, i would use a relay.

i piggybacked my lights off of the reverse wire in the 7 pin trailer connector. (only on in reverse). haven't had any problems in 5 months.

EDIT: iirc they are the same "type" as yours.

The wiring to the reverse lights is 18g. It is heavy enough to piggy back the additional 55w lamps, but the lights will not be as bright as powered by a relay and larger wire. I would either do the 886 (50w) tail light mod OR the 55w lamps on a relay. If you do the 886 mod you DEFINITELY cannot piggyback the 55w lamps.

    oil change...
I had mine done that way on my 07 and had no problems. I just ran a fuse on the power wire.

I also smashed them off when I went wheeling not long after...

Tucked mine tight under the bumper. These are small lights.
