PINCH WELD CUTTING AND WELDING 1st gen

    I have beat my pinch weld flat and tires rub full crank and full turn, and suggestions on grinding the pinch weld back and welding a beed

    His question is will grinding and tacking the pinch weld flush fix his rubbing .

    We have no idea without lots more info !!

    So here is what I have found -

    if you have aftermarket wheels or wheels from a diff gen taco (i.e. anything other than stock 4.5" backspace) and/or larger than stock tires (some with 265/75s encounter rubbing, anything larger is a definite)... then you WILL rub the frame at full lock - doesn't matter what you do.

    If rubbing the liner/back of the wheel well, then perhaps an alignment or aftermarket UCAs would help in addition to what you have already done with the pinchweld.

    More info needed.

    Need more info on your lift setup and tire size

    I got rid of my pinch weld rubbing by getting my caster pushed to 3 degrees by a competent alignment shop.

    But depending on your lift and tire size you might just need to be trimming even more.
