What’s up guys I was looking to make a trip out to the pine barrens but I keep seeing people say in threads that its expensive. I can’t find prices anywhere just wondering if anyone could help me out with info or if pine barrens is not even worth it. I have been to Rausch creek before and let’s just say I’ll go back there when my truck grows afew inches.

I don’t know where you saw that it’s expensive to go to the pine barrens...?

It’s free, and you’re allowed to drive on anything marked as a road on google maps.

watch out for puddles because they can be deep, and bring equipment to get yourself unstuck, or better yet go with another vehicle.

The pine barrens can be expensive if you swamp your truck lol.

Yeah, I can't imagine anything about it being expensive. It's a fun day trip, nothing more. But as @JLink said be careful with "puddles". Some of them are way deeper than you'd expect. A lot of the time there's no bypass and your option is to go through it or turn around and backtrack 35 miles.

which campground are you referring to? There are a lot of camp grounds in the pine barrens.

And I realized you probably read that the pine barrens are “expansive” not “expensive”.

Be careful on the big puddles, some can be rutted out bad, bring recovery gear with you. If you do get stuck and someones driving by they'll most likely help you out. Also, don't go in the areas where it says no motor vehicles.

Sounds awesome man. I wish I could head out there. Don't have any recovery equipment sadly. I will be going kayaking and fishing on the Delaware Water Gap next weekend though. I need to get out also.

I was hoping to get to the abandoned rail line that runs through there. But looks like there are plenty of roads on google maps that run though the park. Looking forward to it.

The good old blue comet, there's a bunch of different roads that lead to it. You should really make it to quaker bridge, then you can go anywhere from there
