My pinion seal is leaking I replace with the right seal. It shows three different ones I got the smallest one and it fit the shaft that slide into the rear end up by the collar. It leaks more now than it did before. Do I not have it on far enough or is the shaft worn out?

For some Toyota parts its best to go to the dealer, they can look up your vin and get you the proper part, abet at a ridiculous price usually.

I just did the procedure myself. Went to the dealer and gave them my VIN, got my parts for 30$. I hammered the seal with a socket until I think that was the bottom. It has to be square with the housing. Mine went a little deeper.

Considering you own a 2002 Tacoma and most likely higher mileage , you may want to add a speedy sleeve to give the seal a fresh surface to run on . Not saying your pinion shaft is wore out but it is a highly common problem
