It baffles me as to why dealers do this to vehicles...

Easy, to charge a $295.00 pinstripe package.

I’d tell them to take them off so I wouldn’t have to pay for something I didn’t want.

Great thread title. It is quite a comical way of looking at the situation.

I would say pinstripes are an acquired taste. Some love them, others dislike them, while many may find themselves in the 'Stockholm Syndrome' category.

I generally do not care for them and personally feel they change the character of a machine in a way that does not match my tastes. With regards to your pinstripes, the 'TRD' logos add an interesting/unique element to it.

If you are unsure, give it some time as there is nothing rushing you except your psyche. Get a proper feel for them and then after some time if you really do not like them, you could simply remove them. If I were you, however, come that time, I would first remove the pinstripes, keeping the 'TRD' logos (as some have suggested) to see how I like them standalone. If they do not cut it, I would then eventually remove the logos as well.

Essentially, care not what anyone else thinks. It is your baby, and do with it as you please. ;)

I always have them start removing the dealer applied "extras" while I'm signing papers.

Thanks but no thanks to the pinstripes, dealer decal, dealer plate frame, etc...

Thank you for the kind words and sage advice! I will more than likely keep them for a bit...I've only had the truck 3 weeks. But the stripe has definitely grown on me

You are most welcome. Sometimes, a little reflection from another soul is needed so as to further understand just exactly how we feel about something.

Three weeks is still quite fresh actually. I would give it more time and let those stripes properly grow on you to the point where you actually decide that you want to spend the rest of your life with your captor. ;)

On a side note, I can actually see why they are growing on you as for some reason, the combination of black/white/red on Silver Sky Metallic, as well as the fact that the design of the dual black pinstripes (one thick, one thin) match the slanted white/red columns of the 'TRD' logo, altogether looking clean, unified and aesthetic... Do you actually have a full body shot of the truck so that we may see the pinstripe situation in its entirety?

Nice... It is not completely my cup of tea, however, it is clean. The 'TRD' logo does give the pinstripe more of a purpose if one were to seek justification for something that may usually not be desired in of itself.

The white pinstripe is driving me crazy!!! I can't wait to get rid of it. It looks like something "Uncle Rico" would put on his van! Grrrrrrrrr!

The dealer pinstripe add on is crap. My dealer tried the same BS ! Their thing was serial #’s etched in the glass. $299.00!
A etch kit runs $10-25 at a auto parts store. I told them I’m not paying for it. They said it’s automatic on every car they sell. I told them I’m not paying for it and left. Went to another dealer and bought my truck. 2 days later the salesman called and said they can hold the truck if I wanted it. They were stunned I walked over $299!

I made it clear to my salesman when he assigned his allocation (my truck) to me, if he put any pinstripes or dealer stickers on the truck I was walking away. Truck was pristine when I took delivery.

Edit: Except for the dealer license frame which I forgot to mention to him. LOL. No big deal, went promptly into the circular file.
